The Chicago Bears granted linebacker Tremaine Edmunds permission to seek a trade, a source told the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs.
The 27-year-old Edmunds is set to account for $17.4 million against the salary cap and is entering the final year of his contract, according Over the Cap. Chicago could create $15 million in cap space by cutting him this offseason.
Edmunds has proven to be a high-volume tackler on the Bears’ defense over the last two seasons. He led the team with 112 total tackles to go along with four interceptions and three tackles for loss in 2025. He racked up 13 tackles during the Bears’ postseason run.
