MLB owners counter player proposal, propose 50 game season

The MLBPA submitted a counter offer to the owners 82 game regular season and prorated salaries and pay cuts with a 114 game regular season on Sunday.

Well, the owners did not sign off on that proposal as reported by ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan. According to Passan, despite less than 82 games, the players would still receive the full prorated share of their salaries.

“The potential season Major League Baseball envisions would run somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 regular-season games, sources told ESPN. The exact number is being considered, but the aim would be to return in July. It would be less than half of players’ proposed season length.
