Tampa Bay Buccaneers cut RB Dare Ogunbowale

Former Wisconsin Badgers running back Dare Ogunbowale has been cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Ogunbowale was a special teams captain and core contributor who has been with the team since 2018.

Following the signing of Leonard Fournette, Tampa Bay’s running back room was getting crowded. After cutting Ogunbowale, the Bucs still have Ronald Jones II, Fournette, LeSean McCoy, and Ke’Shawn Vaughn.

Last season was Ogunbowale’s third year in the NFL and first year of him getting any sort of work out of the backfield. Ogunbowale was primarily used in the passing game, making 35 catches for 286 yards. He also had 11 rushes for 17 yards and two touchdowns.

Ogunbowale signed initially with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2017.
