Last week, I was not available out of town. So I’m back after a two week hiatus, which is fine, because I cover mostly the big 10 and the PAC 12. And obviously, they have either to me the conference has started yet big 10 is starting here in 12 days, Pac 12 is starting in a little under a month. I’m excited. I’m excited because when it was a brooch to me, I’m obviously I’m an Oregon duck fan, but I live in big 10 country and these other two child had been the big 10 fan ER and then I lived out west coast and became a PAC 12 and specifically an Oregon duck fan. Um, but obviously two months ago by ron ron now actually is about like August 10, I believe they postponed both seasons and, and I was a little concerned that we were going to have anything this year it is going to kind of be one of those years that I was going to have to have an SEC team or ACC team or maybe even a big 12 team and but has the stars aligned and some things started to get together in the big 10 country as they you know, people protesting fighting and, and Ohio State Nebraska and in Ras kind of saying and we want to play we want to play and then eventually the PAC 12 you know, got the testing by quidel. And the big data course announced their plans to resume play and then dodgeball was scrambling because they’re like I don’t want to be the only power five conferences within a week, they had announced plans to play so I’m excited. I’m mostly that first couple of shows have done I’ve got a first one of they’re kind of going a little bit over the college landscape. And I kind of talked to him the PAC 12 more than the big 10. And then the last one with him today. I’m simply talking to the rosters in the PAC 12. Let’s again start off a little bit a little more on talking about

the

big 10 because I haven’t touched on that as much haven’t gone over exactly what the schedule is gonna look like. What I think the rosters look like Who am I I think is good, who I think is,

is not good

and who I think I think can win it, and who I think can be a contender, and maybe an underrated team, and maybe an overrated team. So I’ll just kind of talk to touch on a couple of those. Specifically, I think I have a big tan. Um,

I think everyone at least right

now is thinking the big team in the big 10 is Ohio State. And that’s fair to say Ohio State has won. And I’m going to completely off memory here. I believe they’ve won the last three or

four,

figured fleste. three

big 10 titles. I know four years ago, Penn State one, but then Ohio State actually made the playoffs by not winning the big 10. And I think

other than

that, one year that Penn State won, I think Ohio State has been the champion of some I had every single no Michigan State won it, then Ohio State because they won and they won Ashtabula.

Ohio State over the last

it’s been a it seems like the last 15 years. Ohio State is kind of dominated big 10 I’m not I don’t have the numbers right off top my head, but they probably last 16 years, have won roughly 789 of the big 10 titles. I mean, I know Wisconsin’s been up there, maybe one one or two, we should say one one, Penn State one one. But it’s been the big, it’s been the Ohio State show. And this year’s that can be different. When just going from the In my opinion, I got some outliers, I got some, some stuff to work through. But

I mean,

whether you just look for a baseline perspective. So my team talent formula, which I put on the sports cast dotnet, which is basically the baseline talent of each roster, where they’re like recruiting rankings were where they signed and, and Ohio State has been in the top five pretty much every year and over the last since the 247 has a two 417 talent composite Ohio State’s been in the top five every single season. They have been as high as one a couple seasons ago this year, in my formula, their third to four seven, team towel composite actually just came out, I think it was like three days ago. And once again to Ohio State was stirred. They were the only big 10 team in the team towel composite inside the top 10. In my formula, I have Penn State at number 10 team talent had Penn State at number 13. And I would say borderline top 10. That’s kind of a Penn State was last year. And when I actually in going to kind of unravel and wrap this on the team that I do consider the most serious threat to Ohio State it is Penn State arm for several reasons, not just the fact that they play a second game of the season. They play in Penn State and I don’t hold to it now. They’re just not what it normally is. But still, your stadium you know you’re playing. You don’t have to travel, there’s still slight advantage. I don’t know how much crowd pumping they’re gonna do, but there’s still a slight advantage. And the fact that you know, a Penn State, you know, returns a lot especially on the defensive side, they don’t bring back Michael Parsons, but they bring back a lot in the defensive line. They have some very talented wide backers that are out there even though Parsons is left and then pigtailed secondary and they have an experienced quarterback with two of the best running backs in the big 10 and then they have probably the best tight end. So they have some pieces that have someone’s going to knock off Ohio State and it’s a second game of the year.

Um, and as you’ve seen

some teams the beginning have looked a little bit sloppy. So if Ohio State comes out there and you know, maybe a little bit sloppy at offense, I look at Ohio State’s roster. Offensively, it’s gonna be tough to match up that they had the best quarterback I believe in the big 10 one of the best in college football and Justin fields. They have I think the most talented maybe wide receiver core in all of college football close to be up there Bama they bring back Chris Alavi on a guy like Garrett Wilson was a former five star. couple couple hundred guys from a couple years ago Cameron Babb and Jamison Williams and then they signed several really good ones his last cycle. Julian Fleming I believe is the number three player in the country. I forget the one guy’s like next a big bowl. I don’t know his name wherever it’s five star and then g Scott Jr. The top 100 player out Washington. They just have a very very talented young the productive guys like a lobby and Garrett Wilson. They have a great tight end and Jeremy record. They have a very good offensive line wires. They have white Davis who opted out not to back in probably a first round guy. Um, it fit on offense is just doesn’t have a lot of holes from it and you have a great offensive coach and a great offensive mind and Ryan day. I really have faith in that offense being maybe the basketball football, if not top three. Now defensively, I do have a few more questions. Um, they did lose Shay Seon, they lost Jeffrey Okuda, their locks, maleek Harrison, they lost David our net, they lost a lot of really good players

on Shawn Wade initially opted

out now he did OPT back in.

Um, but there are a lot of their production. I don’t know if I found my head, but they lost at least half of their starting lineup, they lost a good amount of their top end production and their last three first round guys lost a total of five in the first three rounds on the defensive side of the ball. And they have recruited well I do when I have went to the recruiting rank is the last two classes and death significantly has been better on the offensive side of the ball. Mid Ryan days off coach, he was in office of mind out of the coaching tree of Chip Kelly. So

if you’ve seen I think this

class, he has a pretty good defensive class

last two are definitely the

best players were on the offensive side of the ball.

Um, so that being said, I still think that they’re gonna probably have a go, they have a new defensive coordinator, Jeff halfway went to Boston College. So they have a new DC you know, they are putting in watching new players to go to replace the productive NFL players. And I think there’s gonna be a drop off defensively. And for instance, you look at a Penn State the second game of the season, come on the ball really well, as one of the best tight ends in college football has a experienced quarterback in Sean Clifford. Could they do some things on the defense? I think they could and and possibly, you know, the offense could be just a little off. They’re on the road. You know, it’s early in the season. That is the game of summer if they are to lose it is that second game of the season at Penn State. When I look at the rest of their schedule report up here while I’m talking about them. Um, I get I don’t see the moves into Nebraska Are we really do not say that those rafters is not going to happen. They’re not going to Maryland? Um, they’re not going to say Indiana. Illinois, their schedule is actually ridiculously easy. Michigan stay in a new coach. I just don’t see that happening. You know, the rivalry game, but it’s a bit you know, at home not Not that it matters. But by that time, I don’t know what exactly they’re allowed for fans. But I know Ohio is more likely to be open than other states. Will they be open? We’ll see. So for all open, fans could make a difference but either better than Michigan or Michigan lost a lot of pieces on their defense and I think they have question marks on offense. So I really don’t see how they’re lose that game. But I’m telling you the game that I

you know, when I sit here and I’m thinking about it,

it is it is Penn State is Penn State. When I was looking at the all like preseason, all big 10 teams on Ohio State, look at these Ohio State, once again, kind of aligning with their talent had the most and you see Justin fields the first team guy Trey sermons, the transfer from Oklahoma as a first team guy and then you got wide receiver yet Chris Alavi first team guy a tight tight end you have actually the Titans not on there, but then you got fair Mumford to tackle. Yeah, Wyatt Davis, the guard. We’re just going through and I’m like offensively, it’s really hard to just see anyone being able to match up with them. Then I look at the defensive side of the ball. And granted they don’t have a lot of these guys that are what they have a lot of very talented guys that probably haven’t started yet because they’re playing my JC younger for your cotu I’m Willie kerrison. David our net but so now they’re getting a chance. But then there’s not a lot of preseason guys that are going to be either on the preseason team from the defensive side of the ball. I actually went through and like Pete Warner the linebackers on there. Garrett Hasselbeck Even though house was gonna pay he got shot during the offseason, he actually literally shot um

is going to be one of the best corners not just in the big 10 but in all of college football, but other than that, it’s like there’s new guys, there’s new guys stepping in, can they step in, they’ve recruited Well, like I said they’ve not thought as well on the defensive side of the ball.

And so their defense is there is

a question mark and they’re gonna you know, baby play Penn State team at Penn State second game of the season against an experienced quarterback who has some weapons who they can run the ball on.

And they have a defense that

has some good players you know, they’re good players if

Shaka toty on the D line. Lamar Wade in the in the secondary j Kwon brisker in the secondary.

Good news, good players.

Brandon. Curtis Jacobs is a was a five star to set for seven sports. Brandon Smith, who was a five star it could come in at linebacker now they don’t have Michael Parsons. And obviously Michael Parsons was probably the best linebacker in college football. But they still got good players on every single level. They’ve got experienced players in the secondary.

Make a couple plays

the deep dive able to get some thoughts on the defense. That is a game that like as of today, I don’t know. I’ll see how they look the first games of the season. If a policy is just clicking all center cylinders, their defense looks amazing. I’ll have a hard time picking against them. Maybe they don’t maybe they look a little bit questionable the first week of the season. And you see you’re like they’re all a little flawed. Maybe they’re Nebraska get some points on them. You’re here, or Nebraska can probably Penn State camp. And Penn State comes out in their opening game and they look really impressive. And then we don’t like go into that then say game picking pen stakes IP ID. I think they’re in the top 10 right now I think or eight or nine but i think i don’t think it’ll generally be a top 10 team. There will always be a preseason top 10 team. So if they can come in and see what they could do against Ohio State.

Ah, so I’ve talked a lot about those two. Those are the

two teams that I think are the two best teams in the big 10 on Michigan, you know has more talent than everyone except for Ohio State Penn State. Hosea Juma near he’s heard some good stuff in practice reports about and seen seeing play out so we’ll see. They got to go and pre tell the backfield last a really good receiver to opt out Nikko Collins along with a guy like Devin people’s Jones went to the NFL last year Terry black transferred. So there Roger Senior Corps I really know Ronnie bells, probably the best guy they have coming back defensively, like agent eight hubs is one of the best interior guys in the big 10. So pretty page is one of the better defensive linemen in the big 10 on their loss and ambry is a Jones err the the quarterback who actually opted out online, he does a pretty significant loss. So I myshkin probably third best team in the big 10 days because I just don’t think Michigan State first year head coach you know, I like Mel Tucker, but I think he’s gonna be a tough year on Maryland a still This doesn’t have the talent, there’s still a good team and the level of the rest in erectors is just horrible. We try to think of the other team and he was

Illinois.

Gather it’s tough man. But I just think in general, that side it’s going to be come down to Ohio State Penn State with kind of like Michigan is a dark horse. The rest is interesting as well because it asked me to favorite they’ve wanted to set for a couple years ago Northwestern, they’ve really dominated the west for several years. But Jacqueline is out for the indefinite period. Grandma was a high rated recruit they went to Wisconsin so let’s see what he has obviously new backfields new wide receivers that they have to they have to replace

Quincy fists and

john Taylor the running back but you know they always have a good line and they’re all line is going to be as good as always, they have actually recorded very well. And this year, they’ve been actually getting five star top 100 offensive linemen the third possible best offensive lineman they’re getting three stars. So I think Wisconsin will be fine in line. They’ve good defense as always, the linebacker group.

So I still like Wisconsin

in there. rask is a tough schedule. Um, let’s see, let’s see if Martinez can come back and play at the level that he did two years ago. He did not have very good season last year. I really liked one Dale Robinson. I think he was a terrific player coming out of high school top 100 guy ditas all American, he had a very good freshman year. couple good Juco guys, they got it for the wide receiver group. We’ll see what their offense has there defensively. I still think that there’s a lot to prove. I give once again, Scott frost has recruited pretty well on that side of the ball. When it comes to Axel bringing back some really productive or breed into God bringing back productive guys braska did has not really had a good defense and I wouldn’t say to bring it back a bunch of production on the defensive side of the ball. Still a lot of question marks over there. Yeah, Ira. I was I was gonna be a solid team. You know what they got, they’re gonna be good to play good offensive line play. They’re gonna play solid defense, especially on line of scrimmage so they’re going to be a tough team.

But then the other

person the rest is really Minnesota. Tara Morgan, is maybe the second best quarterback in the big 10 to Justin fields, and Rashad Bateman might be the best wide receiver in all the big 10. So those two guys well, I think they’re in there. They’re the girlfriend subsystem. Obviously they’re all see headed to Penn State. That’s another good thing for fans say they picked up a very good OC in the offseason. But I think Minnesota with a good passing game. And a good year more, most importantly, a really good quarterback. It did lose some good players like Antonia Winfield mall Jones. Johnson, Jones, yeah, on defense.

But

Carter kauflin was another good guy who awesome defense. So they are replacing the line of defense. And I don’t necessarily think they recruited a level where they can just reload. So defenses question mark, but I think they’ll be able to score. I think they’re going to be able to do some good things on offense. And could that get them past Wisconsin a team that they’ve lost to 17 last 19 years? I believe if I’m correct. We’ll see. I assume pick Wisconsin, I still trust the Badgers because they’ve been so pretty much dominant in the West Division for so many years. But you have to look forward to our course. And if a darker is a Minnesota be the one I picked this year.

But our to bet today

I think it’s an Ohio State Minnesota, sorry, Minnesota, Wisconsin, big 10 title game. Darkhorse would be Penn State vs. Minnesota. So this is kind of a rundown of the big 10 when you go to just baseline roster talent. Um, I do my formula. I have four big 10 teams in the top 10. Sorry, I misspoke in the top 25. I have Ohio State number three at Penn State number 10. I have Michigan and number 16. And I have Nebraska at number 22. On the team towel composite by two for seven off

I like to compare

because my it’s very similar and the accuracy between my formula. And actually the bras was 23. So correctly, 23. It was very similar. They teach our closet was a higher state three, Penn State 13, Michigan 16. And Nebraska 24. So very similar, are Wisconsin actually at $1 27 their composite during the next five hours, they were the landed about 29 in my formula, that’s actually better than they normally have. So they’re actually you might say, well, that’s not as talent rosters. The other people may

actually never have been. They haven’t had a

top 25 roster in the team tell composite arrows since 2015. So they’re like right on the edge there. So it’s actually a pretty good roster this year by Wisconsin IID for their standards, but still all state standards. They’re the best team, the most talented team, they’re the most complete team. And it really is the dark horse is probably Penn State with a little bit of Michigan, mixed in there. If a team is going to possibly win it and be really a playoff contender. I would say when you break down the metrics of what makes a playoff contender Penn State’s The only other one that I think with good quarterback play could possibly be a playoff contender. So I’m kind of over the big 10 I’ve talked about what I think about it what

I think about the rosters.

And then I guess it’s time I’m actually currently

watching former Oregon Ducks. So we’ll probably talk Pac 12. But I’m currently as I’m doing this podcast and on mute, Justin Herbert. He’s the starting quarterback for the Los Angeles chargers. I started the last three games actually but it was because tyrod Taylor was hurt and got actually announced to be the full time starter here. About a couple days is announced probably close to a week or like five days ago. And he’s word 2013 is kind of first down to his left in the third quarter. And he’s played pretty well. I’ve been impressed with how he’s been on videos. This schedule came out. I know I didn’t talk about that last time because the schedule had not come out like schedule came out. Not this Saturday, but the previous Saturday. And there was not a fumble. You’re just fumbled. Oh, my goodness. I hate that. He didn’t follow you and lose the ball. But it’s a blown down right there. I’m too. Okay. Anyway. Exactly. schedule, schedule. All I do is not really any surprises. You had your five divisional games, one crossover, and then they’re doing just like the big 10 they’re playing like every team in the north plays every team to the south one versus one, two versus two, three versus three. Very similar big 10. They’re just starting Two weeks later, so they have to play two less games as of now. There’s still games getting canceled games get postponed. We’ll see when it all gets final. I still could end up having the playoff push back. I don’t know. But as of today, there is a

good play some games.

Ah, games are the very first game of the whole Pac 12 season is on November 7 at 9am. Pacific time. So so normal time for these to noon. For Robin central time, but pacific time it’s nine. It is Arizona state at USC. And that is actually probably the favorites in the south. I know probably the media voted them in they were the favorites. I would Shen do agree I if I go if I’m just a pure baseline talent, especially us these two favorite they’re considerably more talented than any other roster. And even when you go back bringing back production, they have regret one of the most productive quarterbacks. He has a very productive wide receiver for skin solvus and his wide receiver group of Amman Ross a brown and Tyler Vaughn’s and Drake London or is probably the best receiving Corps in the PAC 12 good stable running backs, Stephen Carr. Now, our PI, Marquis step. And he got some good news on the offensive line. That was gonna be the question mark because it just hasn’t played very good and offensive ly in recent years, but he got a Elijah Tucker to opt back in. And so I I think I really do like the offensively defensively, they had a new defensive coordinator. They bring back most of their production but the problem was the difference isn’t consistent. So so they have the talent. So that’s good thing is they do have a talent like sometimes people bring back a lot of those like, Oh, they rock loving the loving, loving starters, all of them starters. It’s like, well, they had a terrible defense. Like, they weren’t productive at all. Like who cares if they brought back those 11 guys, but they do have the talent, that talent if they can play up to the level of their talent, then this could be a very very um I would also say very good defense. That’d be such a that’d be a drastic improvement. But even if they’re just solid, a solid defense, they can do some good things which we think will be a good offense. They give a good quarterback they give some terrific receivers as long as Kingsolver doesn’t get hurt

um, but

I don’t trust USC

I don’t trust

clay Helton. Um.

Oh man, I’m watching this game. Help. Roberts have his struggles now. I just fell down thrown a screen pass. But who should rewatch this game? I’m doing a podcast. Oh, you got

Got rid of the ball. They’re gonna catch it. No, he dropped it. Okay. Hey, guys. I’m sure you’ve dropped that ball. Okay. Ah, but I don’t trust clay Helton. I don’t trust him as a head coach. I just don’t think he’s a great coach. I think he’s wasted some really talented teams. USC in the tea towel composite era has had a top 10 team every single year actually the top five every year, but this is the first year they’re number 10. This is their least talented roster on paper actually, that they have had. So this is the least talented roster that they have had. Um, and but at the same time, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s this talent, but they also bring back a lot of production. But I just don’t trust him. I don’t trust his overall gay marriage. But I don’t trust his overall roster management if injuries happen and actually do already have injuries they have I think three or four guys already out for the season they also have the opt out of G to federated NFL they also had three other guys just opt out choose not to play this year on two of them were actually offensive lineman and then they have two guys that are out for the season I think two other guys that might or questionable for the season. So

if things were having

problems they sort of in injuries and over his overall management of his roster I’ve never thought it’s good even when he recruits even when he has signed good classes they tend to be kind of lopsided like you sign like five wide receivers and seven defensive backs but then he forgot to sign Weinman and D lineman and and he just he’s just he doesn’t he just seems to

I’m not gonna say

coaches coach at the bar five level doesn’t seem to have a plan but just I don’t think he’s a very talented coach. And I think he inherited you know the UFC which lives in the most fertile prep prospect grounds you know where you have some of the best prep high school football in the nation and obviously gets talent roster and his first team he had Sam darnold is obviously was a first round pick in in the NFL and the guys like a Dory Jackson and Juju Smith and you made the Rose Bowl won the Rose Bowl next year he won the big 10 Pac 12 title when did the Cotton Bowl but then when some of that production laughs and he had kind of developed the the younger guys it wasn’t developed and then they had a five to seven season and then last shooter eight and five and they bounce through some injuries and I thought they looked better but I you just didn’t know what you’re gonna get from USC but if they play the talent level if console displays like he did last year and even better and those great receivers I just think they’re better on paper and I think there could be better than the rest of the conference on the especially on the south side and they definitely could win the south and they possibly could win all 68 Um, but I know I’m not saying I trust them and I tell you what the first week played against Arizona State Arizona State is a talented quarterback in their own right I was gonna say probably the second most talented roster in the PAC 12 South voted solid head coach and Herm Edwards and and you know they actually were able to kind of play through wind other like the likes of California schools and stuff shut down because of the restrictions after the season was postponed Arizona kind of kept on playing because they don’t have as many restrictions

I just I just see that game as being one of those Arizona State comes out and they’re just a little sharper and and your see just lays a dub that way loses I mean I kind of thought when I saw that game I was like you know that just screams you’ll see coming out and being flat early in the morning I noticed that home but probably no fans in the stands and and and and they got less preparation you could say it in Arizona State and and they lose I could totally see it and would also when it comes to picking that game maybe I’ll pick that

up but we’ll see um as of right now it’s still

probably take you a see to win it. Arizona state’s probably the other team I’m looking at I don’t think they’re great at every position and every unit on their team have question marks in the line Do they have a great D line

inconsistency in the secondary

you know they have talent but they’re pretty youthful at the skill positions I just Arizona State and they’re still impure they roll while the recruit while it’s still 30 most talented roster point a team towel clause and even my formula I think it’s somewhere near there. So I i just i don’t know i

and they start off with

pre to pre decently tough games, you know, obviously USC and then Cal all the other teams Utah, you always have to respect Kyle winningham they also got fair all the way through because they had less restriction in Utah. So possibly they were more prepared now. They’re very young team. They have to replace a lot that went to the NFL,

but you that I

consider them a dark horse but I still at the end of the day I think UFC wins itself.

On the North. That’s obviously where I

know the best that’s team. I know the best is Oregon. Um, they’re the fans. They’re actually the favorite to win the patchwall obviously the defending champion. Ah, you heard me talk about a lot with him for a day. They have lost people even lost another guy but actually gained another guy and they also gained a transfer so they had a plus to minus one so it’s a plus one advantage from when I last talked about their roster um the overall ended up with four OPT outs. They lost today’s school offensive tackle Allen Trophy winner probably a top five pick I think for sure his top five pick in the new shuffling Hall and probably in day one or early day to pick their Nickelback and then Thomas Graham cornerback and Brady Brees on their safety big did have domitor Eleanor opps back in he is there all Pac 12 corner and I thought that was a huge of those huge and they also had to transfer in of German happily as a two year starter at Boise State he battled injuries a little so he didn’t play all the way through those two years. But when healthy he he was a two year starter and I think he is a

I think he’s a guy that

could play the nickel he also photograpy avillez who is the defensive coordinator for Oregon and that that’s something that needs to be mentioned because he has a familiarity with his defense but i i think there there’s gonna be a little bit of a drop off the offensive line they not only lose soul but they lose the other four offensive line and they so they basically have to replace the whole offensive line so that that’s the question mark

our quarterback

I they have a new quarterback obviously last Justin Herbert I’m watching him play in the NFL, a four year starter it’s gonna either be Tyler sharp or Anthony Brown. Brown was a two year starter Boston College have transferred in Chuck was the backup for the last two years. I think shop wins it and I actually I’ve seen Chuck wise don’t play in the spring game in 2018 is on play. Like in four or five games last year, you know, mostly garbage somebody also came in with Herbert got injured against USC and what from what I’ve seen of shock and from individuals that I follow that follow the Oregon beats. He’s gonna I think be a pretty good quarterback and john Morehead who obviously was a great offensive coordinator at Penn State went on to be a Mississippi State head coach that didn’t work out. He is now the OC at Oregon. So

I think we’re pretty good

offensive coordinator. And the fact that this guy has looked good in what he has played and he’s experienced. He’s a redshirt sophomore. And he’s just not some like young kid coming in. I think show is going to be pretty good. I think he’s going to be a solid player. It’s offensive line is it to be determined. I think there’s some guys that have talent. I think that he’s recruited pretty well. And actually, as of today, if I was to predict offensive linemen, they have a bunch of names and no y’all know

but actually all the from a maturity standpoint

it’s I think it’s one redshirt sophomore couple reds, a true junior and like two or three redshirt juniors and I think maybe a redshirt senior would probably be their top like five six, offensive lineman and they also have a redshirt Junior as a tight end and on the other side of redshirt senior so actually their offensive line despite not being having a ton of game experience from especially from starting experience has played and is pretty mature they’re not just these true freshmen that went in there is their guys have in the program 234 years or play at the junior college level. So um I like that element is better good good better chance to de acclimate their chances they’re physically there like maybe mentally it takes a little bit but they’re physically able to battle out their arm at wide receiver actually has been the question mark with one Oregon’s recruited very well to Alyssa production returned the two leading pass catchers Jalen red Johnny Johnson third comes back. Several other guys are either started or played a lot and were productive. Michael Pittman sophomore Brian Addison, a sophomore, Josh oh god, oh, sophomore Spencer rod who’s kind of a flex tight end he’s also played some wide receiver he sophomore brought he also brought in USC transfer Devin Williams. So I actually like the wide receiver group. I think it’s pretty talented i think i think there’s some productive people and experienced people

and then the

running back room is kind of the same kind of deal. The green back back to back 1000 yard rusher and all Pac 12 running back CJ Fidel and try to sign seems to be weaker all both have played a lot of reps. And they all come back on so I liked skilled positions. offensive line, it’s going to be a work in progress. We’ll see how it goes. And we’ll see how the quarterback position goes. And then defensively they lost all these OPT outs. But despite that, I still think that They have them in Washington and Washington had lost some guys off. I would say they were those two or questionably two top 10 defenses. Miss statistical metrics last year they were top 10 defenses or top 15 defenses nationally, and they were the top two defenses in the backdrop. To go out to Utah was two but they initially Oregon is bringing back so much but then three guys opted out. So think they’re going back five of the top 10 tacklers, the three leading sack producers. The other five leading tackle for loss producers. The guy was tied to the team lead in with interceptions. So even despite the OPT outs they bring back quite a bit of experience and did some transfer in the Juco guy in bed at Rome’s he transferred into safety you started Illinois then drum happily who else who’s a two year starter at Boise State so he brought some experience in there so I think it’s a pretty talented group a very talented defense probably the most talented defense in the PAC 12 and even a fairly experienced defense despite OPT outs as they get still seven or 11 starters return and a lot of even the top producers on in every wave tackles interceptions tackles for loss and sacks so I just I mean with

my event the best defense or top three defense in college football maybe now it’s not that but I still think it’s a very very good defense. Um, so Oregon I think their toughest matchup is probably going to be

game that’s on December 12 at Oregon but i don’t know i well Washington has the second most held the north on paper they have a lot of question marks on offense they had only returned two starters on both on the offensive line they have a new quarterback they have a new new head coach a new offensive coordinator a new scheme a new quarterback they have to replace all their skill talent wide receiver running back I just

don’t know how good

that I mean there’s only so good you can expect with so much changes for to be clicking on cylinders specially since pretty much no spring ball on a wonky camp. I just think Washington is going to have to really rely on that defense and the defense which I thought like I said it was 181 b they lost their two most

productive

friends front seven guys so their lead sack guy and Joe tyronn and their best interior guy in also Ricky

um so

I they’ve recruited well

they have a lot of talent they have a great secondary guys like Elijah molden and Trent McDuffie and Kyler Borden and Keith Taylor I think all terrific defensive backs. They might I would say probably have the best at least in my ratings. I haven’t been the best defensive backfield

but I think they were really young in the front seven

Ryan Bowman’s a good linebacker and they have a couple other guys that I can’t think of the names right off hand that are productive. Um, but I I just don’t know they can get it together the initial season with the new head coach new OC new quarterback offensively to be someone that can really challenge for the title on

to say is the Dark Horse challenge Oregon. I want to say I understand that their return the firmer back to return on a like eight or nine stars on offense. But their offices need good and go in Garber’s, cheese carvers good quarterback he’s a great quarterback on the receiving talent still like very good their talent is the bottom half of the conference. They lost their best interior defensive lineman they lost their couple other D backs to the NFL they did bring back Cam bytom who’s their best defensive back returning defensive back

but I think their customers in defense

I don’t think they’re very talented offense

i don’t know i they could who knows they could change the Oregon

does have to go their fifth game of the season

but if I’m still gonna say who I think I mean it’s my team but as soon as the rosters the most talented

even with the OPT outs um

they’re facing a lot on offense but they did hire very good FC they don’t have a new head coach it’s not like Washington. I’m the quarterback is new but then even if she didn’t win it at the bar was a two year starter at Boston College. They got an experienced guy. So show me to note he beat out an experienced quarterback so that’s to give you more faith and then the biggest question mark it often Is the offensive line um in defensively you know the secondary does have to replace a guy like Jevon Hall and but I like even what they have back there like I said they still return about three starters in defensive backfield on that off back in of geometer one or basically gives him because they basically had three starting corners Thomas Graham McHale right basically split reps last year Graham opted out there are no right or back so you basically have your starting corners

and I still like

the defensive back they’re like yeah versus defensive coordinator. They still have the best pass rusher and Kanaan tibideaux in the conference. They got you know experienced linebacker core Mesa funa and Isaac Slade master Taya. They also signed the two top inside linebackers the country’s in five stars Justin for Noah Sewell. And then you still got guys like the Amador, Lenore and McHale right in the defensive backfield. I still think the defense is very good. I think it’s so possibly the best. And I think there’s enough on offense to like from skill position standpoint, as long as you can get solid player play from the quarterback that they can possibly I can see Oregon being a team that wins at all. And who knows go seven. And now we’ll see if I had to make a prediction today. I think it’s Oregon. I’ve said this in the last episode versus USC. And I would trust more crystal ball to beat clay Helton. Um, I mean, that kind of covers it. I went through the schedule, the games I liked. And like I said, If I had to pick the top three games, ASU versus USC, week one, Week Six, the Washington Oregon game, probably the week five game between Oregon and Cal would be up there too. Um, and I am just excited to and I’m excited for the season aside to see the big 10 Pac 12 kick it off a big 10 once again, 12 days off. It’s about 26. So it’s starting two weeks after that. And that candidate off, I think you know, defeated Ohio State’s biggest laughs So let’s just put that out there. One loss Ohio State if they win the big 10 title probably well, now they won lost. I won the title. Maybe not our Penn State won last champion, I could see them do it. I think one last big 10 I could say I had a big tip what Pac 12 is gonna have won all the games, not only because they just follow us and everyone else,

I just think they have lost respect. People don’t trust them as much.

And I think for instance, Oregon, I’m just picking Oregon, they would have to be 79 I don’t think it would have to be the winner winning games like Oh, they won the last second touchdown over Stanford Oh, they they’d beat Washington by 14 or 14 probably be fine but like the beat Washington they’re

down and came back and had to win it over time and

his games are really tight. They’re just barely win. And then they’re having to compete against maybe a one loss sec team or or a maybe two ACC teams only have one loss at Clemson and Notre Dame. And then you might see back 12 silgan boxed out even with seven in ot. So I think you have to be seven oh, and I think they have to be fairly impressive. Um, I don’t have much to say I’m just looking forward to the season next week. I’m probably gonna try to get a guest on either talk Pac 12 or big 10 play like a big 10 guests because it will be literally five days before the big 12 big to that before the big 10 kickoff and us excitement building in big 10 country.
