NFL Week 9 Recap 2020
TEXANS 27, JAGUARS 25
The Texans spoiled Jake Luton’s first career start for the Jaguars. Luton was 26-for-38 with 304 passing yards and a touchdown but Houston was able to do enough to get the second win of the season.
GIANTS 23, WASHINGTON 20
It seemed like for a minute nobody wanted to win this game. But Daniel Jones improved to 4-0 against Washington in his career. The Giants picked up their second win of the season.
VIKINGS 34, LIONS 20
The Vikings have built some momentum behind Dalvin Cook. The running back ran for 206 yards and scored two touchdowns as Minnesota picked up its first home win of the year. QB: Kirk Cousins.
CHIEFS 33, PANTHERS 31
The Chiefs staved off an upset. Patrick Mahomes had four touchdown passes and 372 passing yards in the win. Christian McCaffrey had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in his return.
RAVENS 24, COLTS 10
The Ravens managed to hold off the Colts thanks to a solid defensive effort. Lamar Jackson was 19-for-23 with 170 passing yards and a rushing touchdown. Marcus Peters had a weird interception.
TITANS 24, BEARS 17
The Titans snapped their skid against the Bears. Newcomer Desmond King had a fumble returned for a touchdown and Ryan Tannehill had two touchdown passes.
BILLS 44, SEAHAWKS 34
The Bills shocked the NFL with a big win over the Seahawks. Josh Allen had 415 passing yards and three touchdown passes in the win.
FALCONS 34, BRONCOS 27
Matt Ryan had three touchdown passes and the Falcons barely hung on against the Broncos. Denver put up 21 fourth-quarter points but failed to add to Atlanta’s misery this season.
STEELERS 24, COWBOYS 19
The Steelers needed 15 straight points in the fourth quarter but came back to beat the Cowboys. Ben Roethlisberger had three touchdown passes in the win. Pittsburgh is 8-0. Cowboys QB is Garret Gilbert.
DOLPHINS 34, CARDINALS 31
Tua Tagovailoa had two touchdown passes and 248 passing yards to pick up his second win as a starter. Kyler Murray had 283 passing yards and three touchdown passes. The teams combined for over 600 total yards and a duel of the future of the NFL.
RAIDERS 31, CHARGERS 26
The Chargers nearly had the game-winning touchdown but Donald Parham Jr. had the ball knocked out of his hands as he hit the ground. Justin Herbert and Derek Carr each had two touchdown passes. The Raiders won the game.
SAINTS 38, BUCCANEERS 3
Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints came out swinging against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and put on an onslaught in the first half with 31 points. It was more than enough for the Saints to pick up their second consecutive win over the Buccaneers this season and vault them into first place in the NFC South.

Washington’s gonna do anything this year. A team that does not want to waste the season as the Vikings defeated the lions 34 to 20 that got some momentum having dalvin cook back. The running back ran for 260 yards Joe and score two touchdowns as Minnesota picked up its first home on the winner of the year. This kind of reminds me of Adrian Peterson trying to pick up the slack Minnesota a couple years ago.

He is the entire offense and he actually did he is the third player in NFL history with back to back games have over 225 scrimmage yards and multiple touchdowns. So he is literally putting the team on his back. It is amazing. And hey, look out for the Vikings. They’re three and five, but they might do something they might they might make a comeback and try to get into the playoffs.

But the reason why another running back came back into the fray is his name is Christian McCaffrey and I think Joe has heard of him.

I’ve heard of him. He’s on my fantasy team. I was so happy he’s back. And now he’s gone again. He hurt his shoulder so he’s only back for one week, which anybody that owns McCaffrey in your fantasy leagues. I I feel for you, I got him. So that’s thanks. But uh, yeah, how about those Panthers? I mean, they’re, they’re, they’re scrappy. They’re, you know, they’re they should they should be losing all the time and they’re not so and you know, they keep it they keep it interesting. So good for them for fighting but yeah, McCaffrey is a huge

loss. Not as bad as the Jaguars. A Patrick mahomes had a four touchdown passes. And 372 passing yards in the win. So the Chiefs had a break, break. He get out towards the end, but they got the win. They win and ugly, but it’s a win to win. The Ravens and Colts interesting matchup ravens beat the code 24 to 10, the Ravens managed to hold off the calls thanks to a solid defensive effort. Mr. Jackson was 19 for 23 with hundred and 70 passing yards and a rushing touchdown. There was one play, the rivers got intercepted by Mark Peters. But it was a weird interception. Like the guy didn’t have full control felt like but according to the rest he did.

Yeah, that was a that was a controversial play. I mean, this is you know, the Colts are impressive. They have you know, they have a really good defense. And, you know, some sometimes, you know, you got to hope Philip Rivers shows up sometimes, you know, sometimes he doesn’t, but those ravens, um, you know, one of the best teams and they were able to eke it out, but Lamar Jackson, Mark Jackson, tied with Dan Marino for most wins to start his career. He’s 25 and five to start his career that is super impressive. But he he needs to be a better passer. And I think everybody knows that. So, you know, room for improvement with Lamar Jackson, even though he just wins almost all the time.

Yeah, of course. You know, I’d like to think question marks have been with Lamar Jackson’s performance this past couple weeks. But of course, no, he is a contender, the Ravens are a contention for the playoffs? And of course, hopefully, we’ll see more of I mean, the Ravens haven’t really looked at, like dominant as they were last season, right?

No, no. But then again, nobody has. It is a you know, you know, I mean, there’s deals right now and they really haven’t dominated everybody. I mean, it’s, you know, they’ve had close games. So there is no dominant team in the NFL right now, as we’ve seen, but, I mean, the Ravens I still think are one of the best teams in the league. I put them at least top five.

And I know I know you know through our stadium was definitely up there back in the day for me but right now is the Raider stadium. Though I haven’t seen him with fans yet.

The Saints defeated the Buccaneers 38 to three in Tampa Drew Brees and the saints came out swinging, literally swinging against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and put an EN slot in the first half with 31 points. It was more than enough for the saints to pick up their second consecutive win over the Buccaneers this season and bolt them into the first place in the NFC South Tom Brady look horrible, but was this a matchup thing like I mean, now we know saints are better than the Bucs but you know the bugs were people were like, like we’re talking about them like this past couple of weeks like Oh, they might be the best team in the NFC but what are your thoughts about that? I agree. I was saying that the Bucs are the best team in the NFC and they got destroyed my goodness. I don’t know. No it is a anymore My goodness. maybe adding Antonio brown did make everything better, which Antonio brown let me look up and that said he did have he did play a little bit but he didn’t have a huge performance. But yeah, I didn’t him maybe you know make could take a few games of course you’re a Steelers fan so you’re not a huge huge Antonio brown fan but do you think killed kind of come into the fray a little bit more or do you think he might be a a bad thing for the Tampa Bay?

I mean, he hasn’t played in what a year two years something like that. So I mean, there’s gonna be rust there. But when he is on his game, he is one of the best wide receivers in the league and him together with Tom Brady could be magic. So if if everything’s right if it’s heads, right and his bodies right, it could be amazing. But it could also be a disaster.

We saw some spurts but I think the last game wasn’t well, now that we’re with like OBJ guy, which is still not a huge factor because he’s still got like, you know, other receivers, but Browns can be as competitive as well.

It kind of seems like they’re Baker Mayfield is actually better without OBJ Whoo. And that makes sense. Because when you have a star receiver, you gotta feed them. And you know, it’s a two edged sword. You know, he’s really good. So you want to give him the ball all the time, but sometimes you have to force it and yeah, yeah, abandon what you should be doing on offense, so maybe Pinker’s better without OBJ where as crazy as that sounds, you know, hey, maybe maybe the Browns could do something five and three You know, there are mysteries sometimes they look good sometimes they look bad so we’ll see

So it’s really it’s really up to the Raiders you know, if they keep improving they’re at least going to make the playoffs

Packers got this. I mean, they had that one game couple weeks ago where they just got smacked. And they got they had their their, you know, they looked really bad. But otherwise it looked really good this year. Yeah, the bears are in trouble. They’re five and four. But it’s a really shaky five and four. I mean, if the windings put together some some games, they could get back in this at three and five. But like you said before, they’d have to, they’d have to almost went out but still, they could they could fight for second place in the NFC north.

We know what they are, you know, Goff and the defense and that and that offense. So I mean, in theory, the Rams should be able to pull ahead, but I mean, maybe though, maybe it’s just gonna be a three team race the rest of the way. You know, they’re only one game behind the Seahawks. And the Seahawks are supposed to be one of the best teams in NFC. So
