Unknown Speaker 2:21
A little windy.
Byron Jones 2:22
Your petrosino he had some on his earlier show and how lovely it was down there
Victor Arocho 2:26
to really know but he’s up Central. So he’s a little colder. Like 60 degrees instead. Yeah. during these times they can go 10 to 15 degrees less than us. Jacksonville gets cold. What? 18 degrees cold. Florida State goods cool. Yeah. Okay, cool. Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 2:47
Georgia.
Unknown Speaker 2:47
Sure does.
Victor Arocho 2:49
Anyway, so welcome to Philly. I can’t believe is that cold no snow though right
Byron Jones 2:53
now though. So it’s common that we’re gonna get feet.
Victor Arocho 2:55
Hey, so we were just talking about what do you got on there? What kind of shirt you got
Byron Jones 2:59
on the roadway state prison, better known as East Jersey State Prison Now,
Victor Arocho 3:04
ladies again? You have an NYPD hat on with a prison switcher.
Byron Jones 3:09
Yes, I’m trying to lock him up and then you baby. You represented all over the place covered everything.
Victor Arocho 3:19
No, no, it’s interesting. Is that going up? We only knew it as Rahway state prison right and my understanding is must have happened like you said it’s changed all over yeah but um but I know Roy He’s got some really nice areas are always what
Byron Jones 3:35
what else do you remember about going in that area? What else is down the street? Okay,
Unknown Speaker 3:39
I don’t know if I want to get into too much.
Byron Jones 3:42
White castles man my castle
Unknown Speaker 3:47
mine was going somewhere else now they will
Byron Jones 3:49
bring it back bring it back. Why castle castle?
Victor Arocho 3:53
Oh, I should tell my wife she bought like a box of like castles and she still my wife doesn’t like dairy or cheese and she doesn’t realize just why castles don’t come with cheese like that’s how we ordered them. I go 100 we don’t order them in a freezer we usually it’s really late at night when we go there but raw way they changed the name because it was starting to become attached to the name of the town
Byron Jones 4:18
Scared Straight program it was going there for years they had their so this well they change all the state prisons names pretty much like they’ll try to state was no New Jersey State Prison. No South woods and you know so
Unknown Speaker 4:33
they all go private.
Unknown Speaker 4:35
No, no, no, no, no, no,
Byron Jones 4:37
they’re all they’re all run by the New Jersey Department corrections my union guys
Unknown Speaker 4:42
yeah.
Victor Arocho 4:47
Yeah, I was gonna tell you well, you know it’s interesting they change that name but rocky also not Rocky. So that’s the one film The out of film that lock lock. Lock up. Yeah, that’s a good movie. All right. Well, let’s Let’s get into it.
Byron Jones 5:02
Don’t forget him. JOHN Amos was in the movie. He was the guard.
Unknown Speaker 5:05
JOHN Amos. Yeah. Yeah.
Byron Jones 5:09
He was one of the cool glasses on.
Unknown Speaker 5:11
He’s talking about giant names from from good times. Yes. Really?
Byron Jones 5:15
He was the guy. He was the guard. Yeah. Well, correction officer. No correctional police officer now.
Victor Arocho 5:24
I like him, Johnny. Oh, no, he’s a big dude. Is he good? He’s a good dude. Alright, so let’s get into this a little bit there. We got the NYPD and a prison over there and on our closer town anyways. Um, Alright, so let’s go giants. I’m bringing up some stuff because there’s some I asked you, you seem to bring it up. So, giants. I got two things. I think you brought this up last time, but I just wanted to see what you thought. and go from there. We have two defensive lineman two cogs in the wheel. I read on the defensive line letter Williams and talvin Tomlinson. They’re both going to be free agents. What’s happening with that man?
Byron Jones 6:08
Just gotta wait and see. You know what I’m, you know, we have had that big year now with all the facts and everything. So he’s probably going to get paid as an edge rusher. Even though as big as he is. He’s really not considered that his they know their defensive defensive end. But he’s getting ready to get paid. It could be anywhere from 17 million a year to 22 million a year. Or and the other guy yells Well, he’s been a good soldier. I never hear anything about yo Tomlinson, another Alabama guy. And he’s, you know, it’s gonna be hard for them to sign both these guys.
Victor Arocho 6:42
Yeah, they were talking about that, because they they they didn’t mentioned they were committed to start getting some offensive weapons. We got to start putting up points the league is gonna be tough. I don’t know what is it that the league is putting up points? Right. The guys that are winning are putting up points. But your defense is still pretty good. And we play good defense. What they were talking about making room for the salary cap because they said that decreasing the salary cap?
Byron Jones 7:11
It did because of COVID
Unknown Speaker 7:13
Oh my God
Byron Jones 7:15
didn’t make any money. You figured there’s nobody in the stands. No concession money, no, nothing. So what are you what are you what do you think the owner is gonna do? You know, they got all that money from your TV or all of your little TV thing. But no, they still lost a lot of money this year. Yeah.
Victor Arocho 7:31
You know, players are paying it back.
Byron Jones 7:33
Not a penny. I know. I wouldn’t get mine back.
Unknown Speaker 7:39
Well, you mean, they’re putting some restaurant on furlough?
Unknown Speaker 7:45
work from home.
Byron Jones 7:47
picture that. Could you figure they’re gonna try to get rid of like, probably, like, Nate’s older gotta go. Yo, let’s see the big tackle. Yeah, golden Tate gotta go.
Victor Arocho 8:01
We got Segwang. But we need some receivers,
Byron Jones 8:04
you need the opposite, a lot is gonna block for me. Because even though other guards are right guard, you know, he has a big fat contract too. So, you know, today I was reading that and thinking about, like, as far as restructured his contract, you know, that sort of thing, you’ll get a little more extra money because they gotta sign those guys on defense or it’s gonna be a mess. You know, they’ll be able to score an offense. And they’ll give up a ton of points on defense because they have anybody to stop anyway.
Victor Arocho 8:29
We’ll get we’ll get to this next but I just want to segue into that real fast. You know, you know, I’m a big Brady fan. I was never like I’m a fan of the Patriots organization with a giant fan we beat him twice. So all I care about right? I’m not an AFC fan so didn’t affect me with the dolphins or the Jets or so forth. But there’s a lot of people out there still you know, they don’t like seeing them back in the Superbowl they don’t like but and we’ll get into that but I just wanted to make comment as it related to salary caps and people don’t make any money. No one ever mentions the years that Brady kept taking salary cuts or not getting paid top top dollar for the team and it was yours Now granted, he’s made money outside when you’re making that kind of money, but you still see other people don’t do it. Um, Sean Payton from the from the saints, you know that he didn’t want to give the his one of his coaches when he first signed the amount of money that he wanted. He goes on a prom take the 100 grand from my contract. Wow that’s pretty cool, bro. You know when you do that, that changes a little bit of the game. So but but Brady has did it for like six, seven years, man. Well,
Byron Jones 9:52
it also helps that you have a supermodel wife, you really don’t have to worry about you know, although I’m just calling the way I said you know my wife has made Think has a lot to do with it
Unknown Speaker 10:03
304 times more.
Byron Jones 10:07
What’s the what?
Unknown Speaker 10:09
Four times more she’s worth?
Byron Jones 10:12
So why would he worry about a little chump change? Let’s play football.
Victor Arocho 10:17
That is not you are the worst. If I would have told you the opposite, you would have been on this side of righteousness. I don’t think he did that for that. Right? But if you want to believe that’s fine. realize how much still supermodels make millions
Unknown Speaker 10:42
were $400 million.
Byron Jones 10:45
So why would I worry about you know, me playing football? You know, that’s like a hobby. It’s a hobby. You know, it’s like chump change. You know, he’s making $50 million a year playing
Unknown Speaker 10:53
football.
Victor Arocho 10:55
It was worth more outside of football than it
Byron Jones 10:58
sounds like yeah, like car dealerships at all costs, I probably doesn’t have all that stuff now. Because
Victor Arocho 11:03
I was buying them all up. When they won who sang it’s took out a full page ad and then repost congratulate. That’s because he bought his business. They were partners. We’ll go back to that. But I still think that he doesn’t get the credit. And then I got some things about quarterback says this was gonna be light, but then there’s so much going on. Alright, so the free agency worried about salary cap? Now I understand that decreasing it you make sense? Because I was jumping together of what’s happening there, um, with the concessions and so forth. You know, here’s the other thing when we talk about all that money. Oh, Stan is? How much? Can it really cost? All those people working there? Right? And if if, if just the players and the coaches to all those guys that make money, just chip in, right? Something to keep those people to make at least the same thing they made the year before. It can’t be a big donation.
Byron Jones 12:06
I think the players a lot of guys, football is a short period of time that you’re gonna play. So right, these guys are going to try to make as much money as they can for themselves before they worry about anybody else.
Victor Arocho 12:21
I’m okay with that. And I’m not saying that I’m not judging them either. I’m just saying that I’m just thinking from a business perspective me how many people take work a stadium, maybe 1000. Right. And, and and it’s also the companies. And it’s not just like the companies. It’s the companies that were paying them anyways, they make money like Pepsi does a whole lot for this whole bunch of people that are involved for, you know, was it 32 teams, 32 stadiums, right? I just like, I wish I liked seeing you know, you when you raise money and so forth, but I also like being able to see that it’s pushed in one section. So you got accomplishment on something, right? I mean, you got 32 stadiums, right? You divide that amongst, you know, you donate up to this amount if you want to normalize and essendo. And from a percentage perspective, this way balances out because the guy who’s making 800,000 ain’t the same guy who’s making 100 million, right? Don’t put them in that same position. And you know, what’s the average? You know, the average salary in the country is 54,000 people working in the stadiums? Probably 2530.
Unknown Speaker 13:33
If that?
Victor Arocho 13:34
That’s my point. Right? So if you put the sponsors and everyone puts in that bowl, take care of that, like that stadium should be a family just like they say your team is right. So anyhow, that’s my opinion. Let’s get off. I don’t get off too much on that. All right. Well, let’s see what we do on the on the on the salary. And what happens there and keep me up to date but I’m gonna keep Leonard I mean,
Byron Jones 14:00
you don’t want to overpay for you don’t you don’t want to do that. You really don’t
Victor Arocho 14:04
know especially we’re gonna talk about especially now. I’ll do a lot of things going on that I think people shouldn’t pay for. I want to see what your thoughts are. All right. We got um, we got Buffalo and Kansas. Yeah, Buffalo in Kansas City. Who would you pick? Tennessee. All right. Good. Tampa, you pick Green Bay 16 Oh,
Unknown Speaker 14:34
oh, oh,
Unknown Speaker 14:35
oh, you’re lucky huh?
Byron Jones 14:39
Write down what you pick
Victor Arocho 14:42
right now or? Well, first of all, you know, I’m pick Kansas City and then I’ve been a temp bunk fan since Brady got there so it was impossible for me to pick against any of them. And look for him of Tampa’s at number five pick. So what did you think about the game? When did you think about Buffalo and Kansas City kids? Like gives you 10 points it comes right back.
Byron Jones 15:06
Well you figured they started getting after Josh Allen and he started you know, doing what they figured he’d do if they put a little bit more pressure on I thought they would try to run the ball a little bit more buffalo you know, to slow down the game and you know, not give Kansas City all those extra possessions so they can do something with the ball. That’s probably the problem. You know, you got to slow them down. Now get the ball you know, like when the Giants played Buffalo and what they do, kept the ball kept the ball kept the ball run. I play good defense. That’s the only way you gotta beat Kansas City Chiefs is that make sure that they don’t hit the ball?
Victor Arocho 15:43
I mean, we’ve talked about that many times even when when with Brady and Brees right? We’re like, keep the ball out of the other guy’s hand like so far all the games that I’ve been watching that we’ve been that have been played nothing wrong but wanted it’s whatever quarterback had the ball last is the one that made me nervous. Yeah. You don’t mean just exactly. You said I didn’t care how much time it was.
Byron Jones 16:09
It’s gonna be the same thing in a Super Bowl. Whoever has the ball last is gonna win.
Victor Arocho 16:14
Yeah, and and so I guess think about all the quarters they’re playing these these not just this is not a year where it’s just not you know, one quarterbacks Okay, you know, Tanna hills taking the heads. these are these are Ace quarterbacks that are playing against each other. And the last one with the ball. It’s tight. I wouldn’t want to be there. You know what I mean? That’s gonna make me nervous. I want my team with the ball last right? Um, what did you think about that? So with Buffalo and Kansas City, I don’t know why they would would have thrown so much I think they they’re going crazy with these quarterbacks. What’s happening with quarterbacks and we’re gonna get into that a little bit after this game after this to what happened but getting crazy with the quarterbacks? I don’t see. Kansas City just still looks just tough. I mean, they’re they’re tough. Well, Kelsey, is this incredible? I don’t get it. tyreke Hill is amazing. I mean, think about by random mean from defensive perspective they got if you go the lines parallel, they got a guide every section
Byron Jones 17:20
so we’re gonna talk about this later too. But what’s going on with them? You notice he was limping. He’s hurt home home take like when he when that one run that he had and you look at his like, you know, he look like these little emblem. And then both of our tackles are out too. But Fisher the left tackle and the other guys out so they’re going to be playing with backup tackles. You know, people have played a lot, but there’s still gonna be backup. Backup tackles going against jpp and Shaq Barrett. So it’s gonna be interesting.
Victor Arocho 17:53
I said he is turf toe Can you explain to our listeners, if they get an idea what turf toe is,
Unknown Speaker 17:59
it sucks.
Unknown Speaker 18:02
One time
Byron Jones 18:04
I had the bullet what they told me is that we played on artificial turf. And that you know, when you’re running out when you’re running, you’re running, running. And when you go to stop, and you’re told like your big toe, and the little baby toe next to it separates. Oh, and it puts up from that pressure on there is nothing you can do. You can’t take it. You can’t put it to the ice doesn’t work. It’s to spread out your tongue between your big toe and then the next toe next to the big toe. And it’s spread like when you when you go to stop on turf. It spreads.
Unknown Speaker 18:41
And it hurts.
Byron Jones 18:43
Cuz I ended up jack lambers career I think turfed out
Victor Arocho 18:47
I didn’t realize first thing i think i’ve ever seen grown ups that with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, huh? The grandmother would Bunyan’s
Byron Jones 19:00
you’d rather have Bunyan’s than turtle
Unknown Speaker 19:03
that’s what that thing would
Byron Jones 19:06
you rather have that than turtle? It could be a week, two weeks, three weeks. It just depends. It just sort of just goes away. There’s nothing you could do for
Victor Arocho 19:17
real I know he’s gonna do he’s gonna have to come play well, we’ll see what happens Kansas City You know, they’re just Kansas City. I’m not surprised there again. I think everybody picked it. Green Bay in Tampa. What do you think about that one?
Byron Jones 19:33
He threw a lot of interceptions on what he usually doesn’t do. Brady the other three in a row Matter of fact. The big the other big running back, you know, he ran the ball like they’re supposed to. They kept the ball away from them. Mr. Aaron Rodgers as much as they could. He’s got he’s having a few issues up there too, that he was, you know, that they’ve talked about this week. You know, you have probably a guy that’s gonna win. MVP and he’s not happy you figured a draft their quarterback number one no last year and they haven’t drafted you know the wide receivers last couple years you know help them You got one guy davante Adams the running back got hurt he didn’t play you know that was Aaron Jones I think his name is the back that was a backup running back but no they they should have won the game but Tom Brady time
Victor Arocho 20:31
damn I could see I don’t know if I don’t know if it’s just about the drafting the quarterback but I think that them not when Andy Reid called two plays where you would normally run it to run the clock out and he let Patrick mahomes do what they normally do throw the past the run pass option to RPO like you taught me right okay everyone’s telling him man that’s confidence in a quarterback that’s the you know there’s all that right and then you got this guy for how long? No, he’s gonna be great. It’s gonna be a great one and comes off the field in shock that Wait a second I if I would have known that I might have ran on third down he his whole perspective of what he would have done would have changed he didn’t think he was gonna there was gonna be a choice to go for a field go
Byron Jones 21:39
Did you see how wide open is it Aaron Rodgers of three years ago when it took off and ran it around Aaron Rodgers at this age? He’s like Yeah, not that old guy he still balls around Yep, pretty good. But it was like he was like that’s what he threw the ball across like that.
Victor Arocho 22:01
Okay, let’s say he didn’t run my bottom line is I’m gonna take some of these guys TV Greg DB create embrace it ain’t bad either agree with her go? Yeah, they’re all shooting for the girl the greatest Joey rise. I’m getting them all coming in. Awesome. Our figure three figure out guys should just call come in doing your homework Good job. Call in guys. See the number I can’t read text and do this stuff at the same time. Um, I was gonna say to you that I’m I don’t even know what they were thinking. It wasn’t like they’re different. Yeah, Brady threw a few interceptions. But he before those interceptions. He was also eating up. I mean, he’s the guy called timeout on a fourth down and told Bruce Arians, this is open. This is open.
Byron Jones 22:57
Okay, you play defensive back long time is what I always tell you toward the other hand, what are you supposed to do?
Unknown Speaker 23:03
Don’t let no one behind you?
Unknown Speaker 23:05
What happened?
Unknown Speaker 23:07
Do not
Unknown Speaker 23:09
be behind us zebra.
Byron Jones 23:11
Well, guess what? That little Scotty Miller? Is that his name? blu ray pass the guy.
Unknown Speaker 23:17
What are the guys in the morning? You know, if somebody else said that they would have got in trouble. And the guy goes, You know what happens? Sometimes we line them to the line because he was different back. And we got this pre pre premiere. How do you say preconception of because of this guy’s complexity, and
Unknown Speaker 23:34
the guy goes, he ran off
Unknown Speaker 23:37
it. I don’t care what complex you are. That’s fast.
Byron Jones 23:43
interviewed him today. That guy’s got a million he tried. He’s saying that he’s faster than tyreke. Hill.
Victor Arocho 23:49
pays fast. I mean, he’s fast. He just runs deep. Remember Bruce airlines runs deep. I don’t know. They should race because Tyree kills fast. He will be different players. But he
Byron Jones 24:01
said he could I brought it. I was like, Oh, that’s interesting.
Victor Arocho 24:04
That’s pretty cool. First of all, I don’t think guy like that would say that when he didn’t think he had a chance. That means he’s that fast.
Byron Jones 24:12
He’s that fast.
Unknown Speaker 24:13
And what?
Byron Jones 24:14
In his mind? He’s thinking. he’s not. He’s not thinking.
Victor Arocho 24:20
This is a big guy talking smack now. You’re defensive back and you run a four three. You’re fast, dude.
Byron Jones 24:28
tyreke Hill ran.
Victor Arocho 24:30
He’s coming in. Billions coming in. Hello. Welcome to the jersey boy sports show. I see Billy. How you doing? You there? me some audio on your side. Get some money on up so you click on the audio belly. I 430 fast bro. I don’t care what you say.
Byron Jones 24:55
four to nine is faster.
Victor Arocho 24:57
Who’s Who four to nine.
Byron Jones 24:59
Tyree Hill Pro there.
Unknown Speaker 25:01
Yeah, but that’s one day four to four to nine is a 10th off for three did.
Byron Jones 25:06
It’s not as close as you think. There’s no
Victor Arocho 25:09
doubt. But that’s just in the combine, right? Can you do it all the time? And how quick Are you in pads on there’s, you know, there’s a bunch of different things
Byron Jones 25:19
they call Tyree kill the cheetah, for some reason, so no, no, that’s That’s true. That’s true.
Victor Arocho 25:25
I’m just saying, if you’re running a four, three, you have the right to say I’m fasting to somebody. Cuz you’re pretty close.
Byron Jones 25:34
Remember that core? Whoever their quarterback is. He found that real quick. He’s like,
Unknown Speaker 25:38
Oh, there you go.
Victor Arocho 25:41
But again, brainy, called for that play. He goes dear, they’re leaving. He’s got single coverage on Scotty Miller. There’s not gonna expect it. He’s gonna let him
Byron Jones 25:55
talk Guess what, that’s exactly what happened. Oh, brisket no biscuit, bro.
Victor Arocho 26:01
Man, you gotta you gotta give him credit. That was crazy. That was balls out call. That was a great call by Brady. And and it was a great call by ariens because Aaron’s got loud do it you know? It means that like he come over in areas gave him the credit areas and oh, yeah, he goes that was that was Tom Tom came over. He goes, Hey, this is open right now. Billy tried to get in but we couldn’t get his audio on. So Bill, see the number here just call this number and then put in this number and hit pound 06465588656 then say access code. 88806981 3140 pound urine. All right. So yeah, and then he and then Tom had the ball that was that they said it was the second or third time that it wasn’t in his hands when he’s lost in the NFC. You know, so I think that I think that pissed them often. I would have gave him the ball. I wouldn’t know when for three. What when they went I wouldn’t want I wouldn’t went for I wouldn’t have went for the field go not against Brady.
Byron Jones 27:21
What are they always say? Take the plots.
Victor Arocho 27:23
Yeah, but not then. You can say you could say that. Take the points but then, you know, it’s gotta be careful because it’s to me taking the points in certain situations is the same thing as not letting the other quarterback have the ball. Right? It’s almost like there’s a time when Yeah, just take points. But then there’s a time when it don’t matter if you don’t, you’re not gonna beat him with threes. If they’re hit sevens or you’re not gonna be basketball if they’re hitting you you can’t go 342 every time you’re gonna lose there’s a point where you know who you’re playing against you’re playing against the goat cross thing and not for nothing you got a Hall of Fame quarterback
Byron Jones 28:08
take the points I’m always say that
Victor Arocho 28:12
you lost this one all right so now we got them coming up so the keys to victory so now the keys to victory we got the bucks in the Chiefs who you dig in
Unknown Speaker 28:23
the Bucks
Victor Arocho 28:25
the Bucks you’re taking the Bucks oh really good for you are you know I’m taking the Bucks there’s no confusion there
Byron Jones 28:34
but why do you want to know why? why you’re taking him know why instead of the cheese because you have to to hurt tackles. You have a PP I’m a diva guy jpp and come around the edge. They got a visa they are that big huge tackle that they have in the middle and Mr. Su in the middle that are gonna be pushing up into his face. They’re gonna come around and they’re gonna make him step up, and they’re gonna have a field day.
Victor Arocho 29:01
And that dieback, what’s his name with the two last names? The master Something must the what’s the kid’s name?
Byron Jones 29:11
Antwan Winfield, Jr. has been playing almost his plan in this game. He’s going to he was probably the best deal for the back. I think he’s been hurt like the last two or three weeks, whatever how much you’re gonna apply.
Victor Arocho 29:24
I forgot. I forgot who the kid who’s gay. He’s got like a defensive interception like each playoff game. He’s playing phenomenal. And there was one time where he almost couldn’t got beat but the guy took the wrong way and he ended up picking off the ball. So he’s and you know, that’s a that’s an effect of how good your line is. Give me a great line. You give me a great line. I’ll have 30 picks, right because now Now I know when the eyes light up at receiver that balls gonna come out quick. And it’s coming towards. Right. But um, yeah, that’s why you’re picking Kansas City. I’m thinking boxes. I picked bucks. from the get go, Antonio Brown is do you know if he’s gonna be Antonio Browns fan is all over? I’m telling you right now, Brady is gonna get them. I betcha he has an incentive in his contract that if he gets a touchdown in the Super Bowl, he’s gonna make some serious cash. Well, he has
Byron Jones 30:18
a he has an incentive I was looking at the other day, it had a half a million dollars. If he went to the Super Bowl, he already got one for like 1.5 million to get, you know, whatever it was, and he does another 500 I don’t know why it’s only 500,000 but 500,000 for him to go to the Super Bowl or when
Victor Arocho 30:34
he got 250 the game before the one that just passed. And that’s what they were talking about. Brady knew that if he caught this touchdown pass, he’d get another bonus of 250,000
Byron Jones 30:47
that’s chump change. That’s chump change for him.
Unknown Speaker 30:50
Oh my god, would you take it?
Unknown Speaker 30:53
Absolutely.
Victor Arocho 30:58
Look at all I’m just saying to you I think I like it. Here’s another Brady moment right. Brady? They they talk about a Brady noses guys is offensive guys. When they’re both he knows me. I don’t know what he knows the specifics or not, but he knows what their incentives are guys runs. You know the things they should have done. We know what they need to get the next level.
Unknown Speaker 31:22
Get a bunch of them coming in.
Victor Arocho 31:25
And I’m telling you you hit it mark the supermarket Oh
Unknown Speaker 31:29
Boy. Boy.
Victor Arocho 31:34
Super Bowl narrative Tampa dl vs mahomes. That’s the narrative. Whoo. Another D. Sonia. Sonia is taking the cheese mark. That’s a good point. He’s like it is. Well, here’s the deal. I mean, like you though, that’s not fair. Events. I got to do
Byron Jones 31:55
a concert Oh,
Victor Arocho 31:56
nine Mark was badass. But my point being is you’re both defensive guys. But you’re right. You know, you got those edge rushers and he’s hurt because he’s gonna hurt you. They’re gonna figure it out. I try.
Byron Jones 32:09
Both, like both the tackles are hurt for Kansas City. Kansas City runs, like you said, Those crossing patterns where they come over and cross the field. He’s not going to have that run across a field like that takes a long time.
Unknown Speaker 32:23
So sorry, go ahead, right.
Byron Jones 32:26
They’re not going to be able to run if they don’t block those ends, they’re not going to be able to run those long crushing patterns that tie him you know, he’ll run or the long ones that Kelsey runs across.
Victor Arocho 32:38
Yeah, and it also prevents him from getting outside mahomes because that’s what he’s most dangerous. I’m telling you watch this drop back. Um, he’s dropped back as far there most quarterbacks.
Byron Jones 32:49
He really did drop that. Like this game. He really didn’t drop back as far as the
Victor Arocho 32:54
toe hurts. I got someone coming in. Hey, guys. 732 number Welcome to the dirty boy sports show we got talking to
Unknown Speaker 33:07
Mark horlock from Hey,
Victor Arocho 33:08
Mark. Hey, what’s up, brother? How are you? Good, man.
Unknown Speaker 33:13
How are you guys doing?
Victor Arocho 33:14
We’re doing fantastic. We
Unknown Speaker 33:17
got down. We got my last name wrong, dude. It’s horrible.
Unknown Speaker 33:23
Whatever, man.
Victor Arocho 33:26
And I pronounced I killed it. At least he got close to me. No, I know of you because I was a young one over there and stop and shop where you were average john. That’s how I knew of you. And and you’re playing and then I was proud of you know, you get a scholarship to Clemson and so forth. I can’t call you mark Hurley
Unknown Speaker 33:48
Oh, I’ve been called everything dude. hawrelak fartlek everything.
Victor Arocho 33:53
But now I think I think you brought a buyer in bring up a good point. Um, you know, it’s definitely going to be our defense of mine is gonna be the difference of this. I
Unknown Speaker 34:03
did the Green Bay. And let me tell you some. I know so Rogers gets get hit get tossed the pressure that he was nervous for the whole game. But dry was phenomenal.
Victor Arocho 34:13
Yeah. And there. Yeah, the defense bats are playing pretty well, too. They’re getting a lot of good hits, getting a lot of turnovers, and we’re turning them into.
Unknown Speaker 34:22
Absolutely, I think it’s a defensive game. I think that I think Tampa Bay defenses is probably slightly better than Casey’s. But I think offensively I think they’re pretty even for the most part, but mahomes is special. He’s that one. He’s a special kid that you get once in a blue moon. I can just about do everything to what he throws where he acts. He’s having fun smiling. He’s having a good time. And the worst part about these 25 years old he’s
Victor Arocho 34:48
Yeah. Right binary cc six, three, Byron. Exactly. You know one thing he’s like you said mark. One thing he He’s a special breed he’s doing things that if you think about them, they’re like second nature, it just playing sports but the quarterback position you don’t see a lot of miles coming in to hold on. And what I’m saying is he’ll he’ll fake going out and then stay in bounds. You don’t need me. He’ll do it. He’s looking a different way and he’s tossing it. They actually practice that. Welcome to that jersey boy sports show what we got here on 601.
Justin Riley 35:30
Your favorite color Justin Riley from the rolling carpet show.
Victor Arocho 35:35
Justin Reilly, the Riley constant show. I was just talking about one of your Alabama players.
Byron Jones 35:43
dalvin Thomas.
Victor Arocho 35:50
And we have a good friend of ours. Mark on the phone. Mark. When he was he had a full ride to Clemson he’s also defensive player. Justin’s a big Alabama guy so we got some we got caught two guys into the corner. I need some help me. Of course.
Byron Jones 36:17
Mark is also a veteran. I just want to put that out there. He served in the military as well.
Victor Arocho 36:22
Yes, more. Thank you for your
Unknown Speaker 36:24
awesome thank you.
Justin Riley 36:26
Thank you was a pain tonight. I didn’t see what shirt he was wearing today.
Byron Jones 36:36
roadway state prison today.
Justin Riley 36:42
Gotcha.
Unknown Speaker 36:45
Man, it’s not called row a state prison anymore. Just
Unknown Speaker 36:54
like you say for a sandwich. I’m familiar with what wait.
Unknown Speaker 36:57
Yeah, exactly.
Unknown Speaker 37:01
It’s not a fact. It was a kid that we went to school with his PR fanboy. I’m not sure if you remember him, and it was Greg policastro. Working? Yeah, he worked in the correctional facility. He worked in Trenton I believe. And I also believe he did some time in Raleigh.
Victor Arocho 37:19
Yeah, yeah. He was at their class reunion because his sister Jill graduated with me. Yes, right. Yep. Yeah, so Greg, you guys. Yes, please.
Unknown Speaker 37:32
Well, I string very good. That’s right. Kelly Avenue.
Victor Arocho 37:36
Yeah, I knew I was so playful I recently bought over there. So that’s where Jill and I knew each other the Millers Ronnie Miller sisters. Hey, Justin, man, I was busy for the Baltimore was going on in Baltimore. Let’s talk about that a little bit. So we right now got Justin the narrative of the show in the Super Bowl we’re saying and by remark wrote a good point is it’s the defensive line versus mahomes.
Justin Riley 38:04
That’s pretty much hit. That defensive line is crazy, man. They went off this past weekend. Shaquille Barrett man just eight green Bay’s watch, I mean non stop. So it’s gonna be interesting to see the offensive line at Kansas City going against those guys because, man they came Ray that Ray that he like I said, they faced it and it doesn’t look like they’re slowing down.
Unknown Speaker 38:29
I think they’re just catchy. I think they’re gonna hit just right. And I mean, watching Rogers getting harassed all game like he’s never been so before. I think that’s one of the reasons why he’s wrong in that short 10 yard touchdown. versus going when he saw it for the completion show ran for I think he had enough of it.
Victor Arocho 38:47
Byron said exactly. Ryan said the same thing. He said for fire. He said he wasn’t gonna run for it. Number one, number two, Mark. I think that Aaron Rodgers was certain that they were going to run another play. Right.
Unknown Speaker 39:06
Now, I think Roger,
Victor Arocho 39:10
you were mentioning the run, right, that you said, he went around that
Byron Jones 39:14
it was Rogers a four years ago, he took off and ran and tried to, you know, try to get there. The Rogers of 3738 whatever he is now,
Unknown Speaker 39:23
not that I ain’t doing that. You know, personally, I think I think Christina coach, if I was coaching him, I would say you should have ran with it. Dude, we got one more game after what we’re playing for today. For tomorrow. I don’t know why you didn’t take off. Because they weren’t really, I mean, as much as as much as Greenblatt had opportunities. I think they, they wasted a lot of opportunities. And that was one of them. That could have been a game changer. Seven versus the three only three points versus the seven.
Victor Arocho 39:50
I agree. I would have picked his eyes. He looked pretty upset. So who do you have? What do you have marked for a Super Bowl up
Unknown Speaker 40:02
Tampa comes with the defense and they put the hurt to mahones I’m gonna go with Tampa.
Victor Arocho 40:08
Okay, I got Tampa, Sonya Jones and the Chiefs Billy got the chiefs. Myron got the Bucs. Greg guts the Bucs. What do you got Justin?
Justin Riley 40:18
Well depends on a couple things if that Tampa defense up front can can disrupt things and make life a living hell for mahomes and company then I think that the Tampa Bay has a strong chance of winning but at the Kansas City can solve that problem up front I just think they have way too many weapons and they also had that they have that great chemistry going between all their players and I just don’t think that that can be stopped Yeah, if they if they can solve the problem up front and keep him at bay as defensive Bay then Kansas City wins they win big Kansas City I don’t know Kansas City yeah
Victor Arocho 41:07
all right. So we got we got we got those picks Now let me ask you a question. Something interesting is happening. We were talking about before with money right? With Brady the quarterback guys and everybody listening You know, I’m trying to think I don’t want to I’m wondering if jerry jones actually made a good move with Dak because of all the problems that are taking place with all these 100 million dollar quarterback you got our Watson you got Carson Wentz you got no
Unknown Speaker 41:46
I mean there’s like Aaron Rodgers there’s a quarterback frenzy out
Unknown Speaker 41:52
whether it’s as they said there’s I think was it who was it? I’m not sure it was Sports Illustrated or maybe someone I can’t I can’t recall that read it but this is like a potential scan quarterback movements by timekeeper talks next year.
Victor Arocho 42:11
Exactly But doesn’t it it gets it gets super hard by room like you were saying like with the money on the quarterback. How are you going to unload that? Well,
Byron Jones 42:21
we figured we got around here carceral lens. You see who went out with that the player went out and the coach got fired. It’s easy to get rid of the coach was a lot cheaper and then to get rid of the player that is $128 million contract that nobody’s gonna pick up
Victor Arocho 42:38
john Watson though, I love him in Miami. All these dolphins this one down south they’re down here. I mean nuts. I would take sorry Dustin, I would take deshaun Watson any day over to a over anyone in Miami right now I would take them in a heartbeat
Justin Riley 43:01
Yeah, guess I can I can agree with you and you know any on any other circumstance. But the thing is, with Miami though, they made a commitment to draft the draft their quote unquote franchise player and the top five of this past year’s draft if you don’t do that, you gotta commit to that guy firmly. And you also gotta go out there and you got to give him weapons to find out if this experiment and this is what it is right now is going to work because you really don’t know the guy came in what six seven games in and didn’t really have a full season and then to when, when things got a little shaky, you know, they yank him, which I think was ridiculous. You know, if you’re going to have God label as your French franchise guy, you gotta roll with him, you know, good or bad. And most importantly, he’s got to have the experience and learn how to deal with adversity. But I don’t think it should be a conversation for Shaun Watson going to Bible right now. They already made a commitment to to talk about is the son wanted a better quarterback right
Unknown Speaker 44:00
now. Hold on one second.
Unknown Speaker 44:03
I was gonna say that. There’s been talk about what I’m a cowboy fan myself. There’s been talk about that, whether or not to having played another franchise for another what, almost $40 million or, or go after Watson. Watson will be cheaper to take over his salary cap. For Cowboys, for the Cowboys. The Cowboys net willing to spend $40 million a year or $38 million. The women’s Come come to the next four years for Dak it would be cheaper to go after Watson treadaway wanting to draft picks a couple of players and you get into an experience guy with some low some injuries. A couple of knee injuries. But the guy is established he’s experienced. And I think he’s got a better arm and mechanics than taxes.
Byron Jones 44:53
But what do you want to trade for him? The Cowboys? What are you gonna give up? That’s a lot
Unknown Speaker 45:00
You can give up with a couple of wide receivers, we can give up. I mean, we have to, we got some choices. And not to say that it’s perfect choices.
Byron Jones 45:12
Guys, they’re gonna have to give up like a one this year, probably a one next year, and probably one or two, like, one of those receivers, I got to give a lot.
Unknown Speaker 45:19
Right? They have a lot. That’s trade bait.
Justin Riley 45:24
Right. But my question is, is, it doesn’t solve the problem with their different defensive needs. And that, you know, if I get deshaun Watson in there, the offense is still terrible. I mean, not No, no disrespect towards the Cowboys. But
Unknown Speaker 45:41
I agree with you, but it’d be cheaper, it’d be cheaper on the Cowboys salary cap to go with the oxen is, because that money that you’re saving, guess where it’s gonna go on the defense side of the ball. And both the Cowboys have, I think, eight to 10 draft picks to the season. So there’s a potential for them to fill up some spaces with young guys that can be kept friendly, versus bringing in free agents. Granted, the Cowboys may or may not get, you know, into the Super Bowl next year, who knows what could be another bad season of injuries, but the fact of the matters that kind of be building now, you’re on the opposite side of Baltimore in the defensive side bowl, and they have to stay with a four three defense. And that’s what this new defensive coordinator, Quinn is all about, which I think plays the highest safety. So he’s, he’s kind of like the extra two they’ve been looking for to play the four three with your personnel that they have.
Victor Arocho 46:31
Now, guys, let me let me make a couple points here real quick. One. Hey, I always wanted to get the money. I thought it was wrong. Right. So I want to make sure premise it with that. But as
Unknown Speaker 46:41
well, that had many points that the chairman screwed up. And he had the opportunity to sign in for 25 million a year. Right. So two years ago, Gen ROM
Victor Arocho 46:51
I was for deck, I think that’s a good player. It should have wanted to get that out there. What I’m saying though, now we’re seeing all these 100 million dollar sign these are quarterbacks and deshaun. Watson wants out. He wants out. He’s done. He’s already said he wants to trade. Justin on your part. I understand what you’re saying. Right. And I think today is going to be good period whether it’s Miami or not. The difference for me, though, is yes, you go you trade you put your stock in there, but when there’s a Steph Steph Curry, or there’s a player that may not be a lot drawn, but is within the top five, top six, top seven, eight. You go take that guy. Right. That’s how I look at it. The next thing is, you know, the, the the Italian side have to have the fragility. The show Watson and Justin You and I were on a sports show with with Santiago. We were talking remember I even made a comment man That kid is I like them better than Lamar. And then I had a back the font last year because the mark really went off but the Shawn Watson, he’s a great he’s only 25 that’s the only I would say hey, and the Miami has the cat. They got the money. They got the graphics. right because it will be great. But man, it’s been a long we don’t know and it’s been a long time that they’ve had a quarterback this quarterback from playing three, four or five years in the league and he’s a superstar Myron
Byron Jones 48:26
you want to pay him?
Unknown Speaker 48:28
He goes so
Byron Jones 48:30
now that throws out all
Unknown Speaker 48:36
five years
Byron Jones 48:38
you kind of put some money to that one guy wherever else they need to be they’re not gonna be fixed because he’s gonna get a chunk of money.
Justin Riley 48:48
Yeah, he brings up a very good point of Victor. If it goes there he’s still going to Team without weapons it May st same situation in Houston was basically Lucky’s making a lateral move, you know better defensive defensive situation there than in Houston. But he’s there’s a goes there with with the only devante Parker and he’s not bad but he’s not elite and they don’t have an elite running back. So what purpose does it served?
Victor Arocho 49:16
Okay, I don’t want to go any further. But let’s keep going back into the last piece we were saying that 10 quarterback carousel I don’t think I don’t remember my lifetime see and they’re all good quarterbacks. It’s not like it, you know? There’s a lot of spot it’s only 32 teams. There’s 10 quarterbacks, that’s a third of the league. And the veteran quarterbacks
Byron Jones 49:41
Stafford
Victor Arocho 49:42
Stafford was one go oh, let’s name you got you got Stafford. You got Shawn Watson. You got you know what’s happened with Dak. Who else is out there? Yep.
Unknown Speaker 49:57
The kids on 49 is grappling I’m gonna keep
Victor Arocho 50:03
there’s quite a few quite a few of those quarterbacks out there that right now I think it’s gonna be free for Dave made a comment about golf today and we’re talking about with the Rams quarterback we’ll see what happens
Byron Jones 50:18
at go Jimmy Garoppolo Baffert whence they got out here, Sam darnel Matt Ryan cousins
Unknown Speaker 50:26
dat retire
Byron Jones 50:30
Cam Newton trubisky percent right you know I got all these guys on here to Winston Haskins went to Pittsburgh
Victor Arocho 50:45
that’s a lot of quarterbacks and a lot of pretty big things.
Unknown Speaker 50:48
Well there is a rock the rock Are you gonna
Byron Jones 50:54
say what?
Unknown Speaker 50:57
rockin Bergen is going to redo his contracts. We can fit the cap.
Byron Jones 51:03
Like $43 million on crazy.
Unknown Speaker 51:10
wants to play? Yeah,
Unknown Speaker 51:11
why not? Yeah. I think it’s, I think it’s captured like 43 million or something.
Unknown Speaker 51:17
This is cat numbers. Huge.
Victor Arocho 51:20
That’s crazy. I would I would think they forced them out of retirement. That’s funny. Alrighty, so we got we got our picks for the team. We have that we got the quarterback carousel. We are getting there to that point. Okay, so we got our picks. We got the Hall of Fame. You got to give me a lot of Hall of Fame. So I don’t know how much you wanted to go over that. And then we got what do you think about the Texas we had two of the snapper coach is our second minority coach hired. That job is a terrible job at texting job.
Unknown Speaker 51:58
That’s a bad, man.
Unknown Speaker 52:01
Man, he’s terrible. That
Justin Riley 52:06
is a dumpster fire man. Not a good situation in Texas. Or Houston. Yeah.
Victor Arocho 52:13
They hired a guy. I think he’s just a scapegoat for now.
Byron Jones 52:15
He’s 65 then I’ve looked at it. He’s 65 years old. He’s been a position coach his whole career. Now, instead of them waiting another week, maybe didn’t get the enemy.
Unknown Speaker 52:27
Maybe didn’t get the other guy
Byron Jones 52:29
that are gonna just go ahead and hire somebody for the sake of hire. might do good job.
Victor Arocho 52:37
Yeah, I just think organization is all messed up. And I think they hired him more as a 65 as a scapegoat.
Unknown Speaker 52:45
I don’t know. I just I just thought whoever took that job was a bad it’s gonna be Well, I’ll tell you what, binary benemid the opposite coordinator for the Chiefs is do I think he’s a phenomenal be a phenomenal head coach.
Victor Arocho 52:58
He’s been talked about on our show we’ve been talking about and Byron’s been talking about it keeps coming down to getting out of the wings of Andy Reid being known for calling the plays you don’t I mean, you’re not looking. Right. Byron, as you were saying
Byron Jones 53:18
he’s successful because they go deep into the playoffs. And that hurts a lot. You know, these guys that are
Justin Riley 53:30
the enemy might not be rated accessor at Kansas City. They might that
Unknown Speaker 53:38
that’s interesting. Oh,
Unknown Speaker 53:43
look him up on your flip phone.
Unknown Speaker 53:46
Read on your foot. What? How old?
Justin Riley 53:53
Are you America?
Unknown Speaker 54:01
You have a senior citizen phone.
Unknown Speaker 54:03
Yes.
Unknown Speaker 54:08
Big letters and everything.
Victor Arocho 54:19
Justin just so I just saw you know, though, I think I mentioned earlier mark is um, he’s a graduate from our he’s an alumni from our high school. In Byron play. Mark on golf and right to Clemson he was he’s a super friggin awesome football player. He’s an Army Ranger, right, Mark?
Unknown Speaker 54:37

Unknown Speaker 54:44

Victor Arocho 54:45
He’s one of the he’s one of our as we talked about some of the athletes Yeah. Yes, sir. Are you gonna give us eight? So Mark is on our list of Perth Amboy athletes. I would talk a little bit about Perth Amboy athletes. You want to go on some of them. I’m
Byron Jones 55:02
here I’m gonna go over to the family members. The other half that I kept getting, we have the Kushner’s I’m sure Mark remembered him, Bob. Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 55:11
Yep. On Kushner
Byron Jones 55:12
and the other Bob Kushner 74 you got a whole bunch of Rick’s Wilbur Rick’s bat for basketball. Brian Rick’s Patrick Rick’s mother Brian Rick. Ryan rich Jr. Rick’s and Ashley Rick’s we have a cool drink. Billy cool drink. Very cool drinker. Yeah, sure. Mark knows him. Definitely a

Doug and Kyle eat half. Remember? Robbie lamb. Yo, yeah. So that’s what the other half of the old family list that I’ve come up with?

I didn’t know the father and the uncles. They were all good. Ricky gave a big family. Yeah. Yeah, the rest goes. And then. And I didn’t. I knew janeski was a coach. I didn’t know you play? Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 56:33
Oh, janeski. Oh, yeah. Screaming screaming right.
Byron Jones 56:40
We can’t say janeski scores on No,
Victor Arocho 56:43
not alive. Hey, Justin. Just so you know. Mr. janeski was our coach or coach and he was a history teacher. Yeah. Okay. Gotcha. So and, and he was real hard on on football player.
Unknown Speaker 56:58
Like, like,
Victor Arocho 56:59
was it a cakewalk in history in this class? We were in his class. He was mad to sit up straight. It’s like army.
Unknown Speaker 57:14
I’m sorry. We’re probably one of the best well dressed high school teachers you’ve ever seen. You always wore a jacket and a tie? Yeah, yeah. thrown him out of a suit. And he’s still dressed with a yeller. He was one of those yellows and unpracticed feel
Victor Arocho 57:32
he was past yellow. Any any any always. He always did this? Right. whenever he’s really mad. He’d get his hands on
Unknown Speaker 57:40
rojo
Victor Arocho 57:46
what we got and we also got a bunch of soccer players that came in. So when we mentioned the families but one thing mark that was pretty proud of the Justin. Is that like from our hometown, it’s small, but there was some generational athletes. Yeah, that was pretty cool. You go back. Yeah. I was. I was surprised because I was friends with the grandkids. Right? Or the great grandkids and I didn’t know that their parents were really brought. Right so it’s pretty. We’re pretty proud for Mark.
Unknown Speaker 58:15
Do you remember who the athletic athletic training was? For us?
Unknown Speaker 58:20
Just a massive, massive list.
Unknown Speaker 58:23
Yeah, do you remember the old slogan of the song we had for him? No. We don’t we don’t remember All right. I’ll say I’ll say it live over zoom. Balls of brass mass mass mass balls of brass
