Super Bowl LVI February 2022 Schedule and Locations for Who Wishes to Attend

The Super Bowl is the annual NFL or the National Football League championship game and is the culmination of the professional American football season.

The game was formed as a merger agreement in 1970 between the NFL and its then-rival league, the AFL or the American Football League. The merged league realigned into two conferences. After the merger, each league was redesignated as a “conference”: the NFC (National Football Conference) and the AFC (American Football Conference).

The winners of the game receive the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The city of New Orleans hosted Super Bowl LVI in 2021, which was played at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The Super Bowl LVI will be the 56th time the Super Bowl will be played.

On February 13th, 2022, Super Bowl LVI will be played in SoFi Stadium. The game is the final event of the 2021–22 NFL playoffs. It’s being held in Inglewood, California, for the second time.

The Greater Los Angeles area has hosted eight Super Bowls: four at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena (one pre-merger, three post-merger), two at Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, one at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and one at SoFi Stadium. The last time the city of Inglewood hosted a Super Bowl was XXVII in 1993.

Sports bettors are licking their lips at the prospect of an explosive game including the Cincinnati Bengals or Kansas City Chiefs (depending on the outcome of the AFC Championship game) and the San Francisco 49ers or Los Angeles Rams (depending on the outcome of the NFC Championship game). Super Bowl betting agents are on stand-by to declare the odds as soon as both teams are finalized.

Host Selection

As opposed to the past Super Bowls, no bids were accepted for Super Bowl LVI, and the NFL awarded Super Bowls LIII, LIV, and LV to Atlanta, Miami, and Los Angeles (they did not bid for the Super Bowl LIV and were not eligible to bid for Super Bowl LIII) respectively.

Los Angeles football fans have been clamouring for a new stadium for decades. At last, their wishes were answered when the Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park was announced in 2015.

The stadium would have been built on the former Hollywood Park Racetrack site, just south of Los Angeles International Airport on Prairie Avenue. However, on May 18, 2017, authorities announced that the stadium’s opening had been delayed an additional year to 2020. This meant that Tampa Bay would host Super Bowl LV.

On May 23, 2017, the league declared that Super Bowl LV was re-awarded to Tampa Bay and the Super Bowl LVI was awarded to Los Angeles.

History of the Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is a professional football game that helps determine the NFL champion. It pits the two conference winners, the AFC and the NFC, against each other in one game.

The game came about as part of an agreement between the NFL and its rival league at the time, the AFL. It has been played annually since 1967.

The first three were between the champions of the AFL and NFL. Since then, it has featured the champions of the NFC and AFC.
