Ryan Fitzpatrick is calling it a career after 17 seasons in the NFL.
The 39-year-old quarterback is retiring from football, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Thursday. The unofficial announcement came after former Bills teammate Fred Jackson screenshot an apparent text message from Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick played for nine teams over the course of his memorable career, finishing his playing days with Washington in 2021. A seventh-round selection of the St. Louis Rams in 2005, Fitzpatrick logged starts for every team he suited up for, thrilling fans with his gunslinger mentality on the field and captivating those off the field with his Harvard-educated personality.
