Lillard agrees to two-year, $120 million extension with Trail Blazers
Damian Lillard continues to show loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers. On Friday, the star guard agreed to a two-year, $120 million extension with the team, according to Marc Spears of ESPN. The extension will keep Lillard in a Trail Blazers uniform through the 2025-26 NBA season, and it includes a player option for the ’26-27 season.
Lillard now becomes one of the highest total earners in NBA history with an estimated $451 million in career earnings, per Shams Charania.
Big 10 adds UCLA, USC. SEC to expand?
USC and UCLA announced they would be leaving the PAC-12 for the Big Ten. Seemingly, this was in response to the SEC adding Texas and Oklahoma in 2021. The conference wanted to keep up with the SEC. Meanwhile, the two Los Angeles schools wanted to be in a better position long-term.

Wayne Rooney set to be new D.C. United manager
Former England captain and Manchester United soccer superstar Wayne Rooney has agreed terms to be the next manager of D.C. United, and will join up with the club once the final details are worked out and he acquires the necessary work visa.
Rooney replaces Hernan Losada, who was fired in April. The Black-and-Red has since been under the stewardship of interim manager Chad Ashton, but the results haven’t improved, including last Friday’s 7-0 shellacking at the hands of the Philadelphia Union. DCU is currently tied with Chicago for the fewest points in Major League Soccer, with just 17 from as many matches.
Tony Romo wins American Century celebrity title
Tony Romo won the American Century Championship for the third time, beating Mike Mulder and Joe Pavelski with a 5-foot birdie putt on the second hole of a playoff Sunday.
Romo also birdied the par-5 18th in regulation to earn three points and match Mulder and Pavelski with 62 points at Edgewood Tahoe in the modified Stableford scoring system event.
Romo, the former Dallas quarterback and current top NFL television analyst, also won at Edgewood Tahoe in 2018 and 2019.
