Hello again everyone. With the Premier League close to a third of the way into its season, this week’s fixtures in in2bet feature some absolute crackers. Here are my predictions on how another matchday will go.
The first game of the weekend sees a Liverpool side hoping to build on consecutive wins head to the East Midlands to take on Nottingham Forest. I’ll back them to make it three victories in seven days with a routine 3-1 over the struggling Forest.
The 3 o’clock fixtures see Everton welcome Crystal Palace and champions Manchester City host Brighton. In the former, I’m going for a narrow 1-0 to Frank Lampard’s improving side. At the Etihad, meanwhile, a City side that didn’t play in midweek should win comfortably, and I’m going to predict a 4-1 home win.
Saturday evening brings us probably the match of the weekend. Manchester United travel to London to take on Chelsea, who have been Champions League material under Graham Potter. While United played their best game of the season to see off Spurs in midweek, I think their visit to the Bridge will end in defeat. United’s lack of consistency will catch up with them here as this one ends 2-0 to the hosts.
As we move on to Sunday, Aston Villa host Brentford in the first game since they sacked Steven Gerrard. In a winnable home game, I expect they will pick up a 2-0 win. Meanwhile, Fulham and Leeds could both do with a win, but on recent form I expect them to share a 1-1 draw which helps neither very much.
Arsenal have been almost perfect this season, and I see no reason for them not to continue that with a win over Southampton. I’m saying 3-0 to the Arsenal. Rounding out the early games we have managerless Wolves hosting Leicester. My prediction is that Brendan Rodgers’ men will lose another, by a narrow 1-0 margin.
In the Sunday teatime game, Spurs have a tough encounter in which to rebound from the week’s loss at Old Trafford. They’re up against a Newcastle United outfit that is suddenly in the frame for Champions League qualification. Both sides are more than capable of putting on a performance here, but I think Spurs will maintain their 100% home run by winning 2-1 over a Magpies team that has lost star striker Alexander Isak until after the World Cup.
