FIFA has granted certification to Playermaker’s lower limb tracking system, allowing its use in official matches. This technology, which attaches to football boots, monitors various performance metrics such as time on the ball, technical balance, speed, and more. It was created in 2019 and is now approved by FIFA under the Electronic Performance and Tracking Systems (EPTS) FIFA Quality Programme. While wearable tracking devices are common for the upper body, lower limb wearables have only recently gained FIFA approval. Playermaker, with partnerships with over 200 clubs and academies, provides performance analytics to teams like Manchester City, Benfica, LA Galaxy, and Norwich City.
