Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick got into a heated dispute in the locker room following last Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Defensive veterans Cameron Heyward and T.J. Watt broke up the argument and told the team it needed to remain united, Schefter adds.
Johnson visibly showed his frustration throughout last Sunday’s contest. However, he started “chirping” the Steelers’ coaches postgame as they went into the locker room, a source told ESPN. Johnson’s antics reportedly drew Fitzpatrick’s attention and led to the argument.
Johnson was also caught having an animated discussion with head coach Mike Tomlin on the sideline during the loss. The 27-year-old said earlier this week that he was a “little bit” frustrated last Sunday but that it’s “nothing to make a big deal of,” according to Joe Rutter of Trib Live.
