Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is in concussion protocol following the team’s 30-6 loss to the New York Jets, head coach DeMeco Ryans announced Sunday.
The signal-caller was hit after releasing a pass late in the game and hit his helmet hard against the turf. He didn’t return to the contest.
Wide receiver Nico Collins also didn’t return after sustaining a calf injury. Collins, the team’s top passing option, exited the game with just one catch for 13 yards. Tight end Brevin Jordan finished as the team’s leading receiver with 35 yards on three receptions.
