Real Madrid have confirmed manager Carlo Ancelotti has signed a new contract until 2026.
The Italian coach had been publicly targeted by the Brazil national team, with high-ranking officials making no secret of their desire to lure Ancelotti away once his previous contract with Madrid expired at the end of the current season.
Rumors had it that Ancelotti did have a preliminary agreement to take charge of Brazil if Madrid declined to renew his contract, but the Spanish side have now put the uncertainty to bed by tying the boss down to a new deal.
“Real Madrid CF and Carlo Ancelotti have agreed to extend our coach’s contract until June 30, 2026,” a statement read.
