Mbappe won the European Golden Shoe on Sunday as the highest scorer across the top tiers of Europe’s various domestic leagues, finishing the campaign with 31 La Liga tallies to compile more points than Sporting CP talisman Viktor Gyokeres.

The top five leagues based on UEFA’s rankings have a coefficient factor of two, while the leagues ranked sixth to 22nd by the governing body have a factor of 1.5. That’s why Gyokeres finished second despite scoring eight more league goals than Mbappe.
