New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks due to a high ankle sprain suffered in Wednesday night’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports.
Brown was injured in the third quarter when a Seahawks defender landed on his ankle during an incomplete pass. He limped off the field and didn’t return.
The injury spoiled what was a highly anticipated Patriots debut for Brown, whom New England acquired for a 2028 first-round pick in an offseason trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. He recorded only 26 yards on three catches, though he set up New England’s only touchdown by drawing a defensive pass interference penalty.
