Super Bowl LIX

Super Bowl LIX: Chiefs vs Eagles predictions, breakdown, and odds

Posted on February 9, 2025February 9, 2025 by Gabriel Esparza

This year’s Super Bowl LIX is set to take place in New Orleans. Some are electing to boycott the festivities this year. But for most, there is PLENTY of money to be had. However, aside from the novelty props and National Anthem length, which side of the game itself is the best option to take?

Over/Under for Super Bowl LIX

Both defenses are strong. Most of the headlines will focus on the Kansas City Chiefs, particularly on offense. Furthermore, Saquon Barkley garners a lot of attention, even on non-birthday days. But a lot of opposing Super Bowl LIX game plans are going to be centered around being able to move the chains. Moreover, the red zone can become extremely difficult for offenses. A lot of drives end up resulting in field goal attempts.

Granted, Jalen Hurts has started to pick things up in the passing game. However, for a lot of the season, it’s been a struggle to get that going. Finding AJ Brown a lot of times has proven to be difficult. Pair this aspect with Steve Spagnuolo, and points could be difficult to come by. Likewise, Vic Fangio has his side rolling, and it’s known how much harder it’s been for Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce this year.

Pick: Under 48.5 (-105)

Spread/Moneyline for Super Bowl LIX

The line continues to favor Kansas City more and more. A lot are expecting KC to win outright, if not cover the spread. It’s understandable. The Chiefs are positioned to accomplish the three-peat. This Super Bowl LIX may not have the usual hype. But too many are overlooking the overall strengths of this Philly team.

Any recipe for success is simple. Establish the run and shorten the game. This is easier when Barkley is in the backfield. Expect coach Spags to load up the box, but everyone knows what 26 can do on any given play. Furthermore, the defense is likely to force turnovers and give extra possessions to Mahomes.

A full point and a half is too many. This is likely to be a good one. Even if the reigning champs win another one, it’s more likely to be a close, low-scoring affair. Picking the Eagles to win could be seen as too much of a risk. But going moneyline here gives a better return for anyone thinking that this upset happens. Either way, Super Bowl LIX will prove to be a good final matchup of the year.

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles +1.5 (-115)
