So of course you know the NFL draft is great, but a lot of these signings and these trades do affect the mock ups, don’t they?

Yeah, they do.

Which one? Yeah. Yeah. Which ones have you really significantly noticed?

Tyler Turner
Well, I mean, I think the one that I immediately well, several but the one that I immediately thought of was many people thought the Indianapolis Colts Colts were going to draft quarterbacks in the first round, but obviously, they traded out they took deforest Buckner from San Francisco 40, Niners in the 40 Niners out the first round pick. So that was a big one on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers obviously signing Tom Brady on they were possibly in play at number 14 and take you to take them out of it. Um, Jacksonville. You Well, um, well, Jacksonville Jaguars because they got rid of Nick foles could they possibly be open To take a quarterback and nine they also pick a number 20 was another one that I saw that I thought really impacted. Well, the Vikings added another first round pick. I don’t think that’s as much a quarterback because they signed.

Yeah. How about the Chargers? Obviously, they were rumored to get Brady. They say tyrod Taylor. What do you think? I mean, and they have the sixth spot in the draft, of course.

Tyler Turner
Well, that’s the other side of the coin people that didn’t do anything. So so so you asked me the question who changed that maybe, like move them out or moved around. So if you want to go to the other side of the coin, which would be who didn’t really do anything that just leave them in position to take like for instance the Chargers didn’t get Brady they have not traded for Cam Newton or for jameis jameis Winston so you would think that possibly that just is leaving them in a position to take a quarterback correct on the same with the dolphins currently they didn’t do anything so salad leaves them in position to take quarterback course Bengals, they didn’t do anything so that would leave them in position to take quarterback. So I just think that’s kind of maybe more like chalk with those three. People always had those three taking a quarterback and they didn’t do anything that makes you not think they still would take a quarterback. Whereas the Colts were mocked up to buy a lot to take a quarterback. But then they made this move out of the first round by taking by the trade for Buckner and giving away their first round picks the niners I mean, they basically said, Hey, whoever the fourth quarterback is is not good enough. We don’t value enough. So we’re going to try it out and get a hold tackle.

One team we were discussing before are the Patriots obviously there? They lost Brady. They do have Jared Stidham in the bench. We’ve talked about this before offline. Do you think they’re going to try a trade up and hopefully get a quarterback? Obviously, we were saying Jordan love could fall in that lower pool. Patriots are at number 23 in the draft order. What are your thoughts? What do you think’s gonna happen with them?

Tyler Turner
Um, a lot of the prognosticators that I read don’t don’t seem to be really strongly leaning towards the direction like they could draft a quarterback the number 23 pack, but I also see them a lot pushing the narratives of trading for Josh Rosen trading for jameis Winston trading for Jacoby moose that and maybe not necessarily settling for a fourth option at quarterback. Maybe they’ll draft quarterbacks in the second round like a Jake Fromm or possibly maybe a Jake if he said I you know so it’s kind of tough to get a read because for them to get things could fall right for them hypothetically let’s say you know burrow goes at number one and then you have the chargers and the dolphin stay at five and six the dolphins pick to tell the law and then at six you see the Chargers take Jordan love. And then all of a sudden you have to run on teams that really don’t need a quarterback like the jets and the browns and look at the Panthers and and all of a sudden you see a guy like Justin Herbert dropping and then all of a sudden the Patriots may Have you draft up to like the 15th spot or something of 14 and then they take just in Harvard you could see that but I don’t know if that’s a very likely because for one I could I totally could see the dolphins the charges trading up to make sure they get out of law or Herbert so then they’re both off the board and then you got love sitting there and is love loved enough love loves enough Isn’t that funny? Anyways is love liked enough by the by the Patriots to trade off his stock has been swinging up a little bit. Would you say Jordan love stock has been going up or is that playing B quarterback you know? Yeah, I mean his. I think his stock is pretty good. I mean, I think he’s gonna go in the first round. I just don’t know. Aware actually. So he’s definitely I think kind of a wild card cuz it seems like some people and some teams really like him. Some procrastinators haven’t gotten really high. Possibly Other ones not so much. We have impossibly following the number 23 and the Patriots maybe even more, maybe into the saints or possibly even like a team like the pack or so. I don’t know, john Love is a little more of a dark one. I see. Yeah, I see him early in the draft. And I also see him. Sorry, I see him late early round. In the mock ups. I see him early in the mocks and I see him later in the first round in the box. Whereas you kind of consistently see well burles consistently number one. Barring something unforeseen, it seems like he’s gonna go one. I guess everyone’s thinking to as medically going to be cleared I guess that everyone believes that he’s going to be fine. So I seen mostly two are going early. On Herbert’s there’s some some variations with Herbert. I see more towards the beginning. I think I see more people believing the dolphins or the Chargers will draft Justin Herbert But you do see one or two marks here and there that have Herbert dropping a little bit you know and so I don’t know what it is interesting I definitely I mean if you just go we’re just talking about quarterbacks it’s only positions we’ve talked about so far. my resume But you see, you see yeah like well Arizona probably is not gonna dry like I thought Arizona for sure was gonna draft a wide receiver but obviously they went it got Hopkins so they might not draft a receiver they might draft a tack was there is there an eighth yeah possibly like Tristen worse possibly generic well as possibly may come back then. Maybe a Andrew Thomas. So they’re a team that’s probably moved in a different direction. I think the niners moving so high up. I think they’re going to take a wide receiver. They could use some more weapons. So you know, at number 13 they could get Henry rugs received possibly a CD lamb or Jerry Judy. Um, who’s another team that I think could be in a position to possibly change?

I don’t know right off. Well the Colts is interesting. What are they going to do? Are they going to draft back off? Sorry, are they going to trade back up into the first round? Or the niners do they have to first round of the niners gonna try to maybe trade out on one of their spots in order to get later picks or maybe for player better value. We want interesting stuff. The Eagles seem to be in a position to draft a wide receiver and this is a very good wide receiver draft. Oh, there seems to be a lot of teams put it in the Vikings you know they got they lost stefon Diggs, they need another receiver so I would expect them to take receiver with one of the first two picks I expect the Eagles to take a receiver inspect the Niner stake receiver on spec the Raiders to take a receiver was One there to fix um so I think a lot of Packers you have to think are still in position even though you do see some mocks having them go with a tackle because they lost Brian Bulaga they could use another offensive lineman So do they go the offensive line route number 30 I they need receivers they need some good guys so and they also author tight end Jimmy Graham so they could use a tie down yeah, it’s gonna be interesting it’s gonna be like definitely teams are making moves free agency has definitely changed things a little bit. There still is some future moves to be made and where does a guy like Cam Newton land? Where does jameis Winston land does Josh Rosen get traded? Does Jacoby brissette get traded um you know, are the Redskins totally fine just chillin with Dwayne Haskins, or do they maybe make the run at another player, maybe even drafted to Adele, the law of chalk everyone so there’s a lot Interesting storylines, sir.

Yeah, I mean, I would think Jerry God, but hands down. Why? Kevin? I mean, had an amazing college career. He’s definitely, you know, projected in the top 15.

Okay, but so good rugby. I mean, why is he better than rock?

I mean, that’s just from my perception. I don’t have stats in front of me

Tyler Turner
well know that you you you’re like Jerry Judy, without you kind of said Jerry, Judy. Without questions. I was just like, why would like why is Jerry Judy beyond a shadow of a doubt, going to be a better pro than Henry rock. I mean, I see it in the mock ups. He’s, he’s first, over. Let’s take, let’s take off the mocks. And actually, it’s pretty close. It’s actually pretty close like I see. I’ve seen rugs die she just looked at a mock by and I don’t look at it my some no name cares what they say. So I tried to look at like Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks, Todd mcshea Mel Kiper? Um then so like, ah you know Matt Miller he’s kind of a goofball but yeah I look at him so I try to look at the ones that are the most connected the most sources and we’re a lot of times former sec scouts are themselves. I don’t know. I don’t know if this is what an argument could be made for Henry rugs. He’s faster. He’s just plain and simple. Faster than Jerry Judy. And that gives you an advantage and one very important area when it comes to the wide receiver position. Now is straight line speed the only for a parameter to testing how good are Rogers projection is moving forwards have no it’s not. Obviously plenty of four to four three guys who went on to have very average careers. And you had guys that were four or five fours, and then went on to the Hall of Famers. There’s so many different things like route running and fall skills, physicality that play into someone being a good receiver. Um, I just wouldn’t go beyond a shadow of a doubt and say Jerry, Judy is unquestionably going to be the more productive NFL player. Judy’s a great route runner. He’s a great playmaker. He makes big simple Miss in space. Um, but he’s very, he’s not a big guy. He’s a very slight guy. Um, he doesn’t have blazing speed. rods. His place is blazing fast. He’s fast, the sky this way yours NFL calm. By at Sky college football he does have something that is very hard to match when when you can it’s hard to match a guy with speed and you could see him be in like a wallet like Wallace you could see him being like a think of another guy that’s similar like a Sean Jackson, who is just a real bat big time matchup nightmare from either the slot or outside. Could Judy be better? I like Judy as a route runner better. I think he’s a little more consistent pass catcher. If I think Judy goes before him, I think it’s close. I think like for instance, if I were going to draft if I were going to do a mock today, and it’s changed because I did a slight mock on the sports cast five days ago and I had a CD lamb going to Arizona. I don’t think he goes to Arizona now. Yeah, I think this week’s news things change. Yeah. I think CD lamb goes to old Glennon and I think a 13 san francisco takes Jerry Judy. But I have rugs going probably. I’m not looking at the who’s drafting, but he wears the Eagles draft.

Judy might go like I said 13 to the diners and then you’ve got rugs there at 15 so and rugs can do some things that Judy caddy is is better straight. lightspeed is a more explosive athlete

Yeah, I that’s a good question by by Riley and and I’m not like if you’re gonna say who I think is going to be the most productive, wide receiver it’s gonna be in my opinion it’s gonna be CD lamb I think he’s the basketball skills. They’ve been here great physicality. I think he’s very good at making people making play gak which is yards after the catch. I like CD lamb fast. I think he’s gonna be the best were at the wide receiver position which I want for you. I love right and I you from Arizona State. I think he makes people miss. I think he’s extremely physical. And I like those times. receivers at the next level. I like George Jefferson is a good route runner. He could play in the slot he could play outside. I like Denzel Mims. He’s an extremely explosive. He’s a big strong, fast, quick guy. So, yeah, that’s a good question. Ah,

I’m gonna I’m actually gonna go into Iraq. Okay, you asked me today. The reason why is I think he, he possessed he’s a matchup difference maker, more so than Judy. And I do like judy is a past catcher. I do like him as a route runner. He’s always been good ever since he was a high school prep guy. But I like rugs as being a mismatch difference. And he’s someone different than the others because I’m looking at Mount runner. Judy’s good but so is George Jefferson. So a CD lamb. Um, so is a, Brandon. I you so? Yeah, I mean, I don’t know. Yeah, it’s it’s gonna be close. That’s good question though. Any other questions there?

Obviously there were some news that came out this morning that the dolphins were planning to have to come visit their training camp last week, of course due to the corona virus that had canceled. Tyler does that have any speculations that the dolphins are leaning towards to uh

well, I like is it a Mondo? Carol? He covers for the Miami Herald. I posted some stuff that he said. Um, he I think he’s been as tough as on this whole situation with the dolphins Isn’t he get right now? I think they definitely want to see where he’s at physically. So it makes sense because the big question mark about to have right now is has he recovered and wait how fully repaired And how will he be after his hip injury? And that I think is a question mark that someone like the dolphins want to answer that someone like the Chargers might want to answer. So you made sense that they tried to move him in. Because, for instance, if the dolphins really want to add, they might have to trade up, which means they might have to get rid of their other first round pick. Or they might have to get rid of like second and third round picks. And the dolphins aren’t a very good team, they need all the picks and all the players they can get. So to give away picks, especially first draft picks, for a guy, they want to make sure that he is healthy, that he could be to a towable off that put up those ridiculous numbers at Alabama and not be a shell of themselves and someone who just is gonna get injured and will not really be a successful NFL player. So yes, it says a lot that they’re very interested in AI unquestionably. There are their own questions. interested to um cuz you got burl going that one I don’t think the Redskins draft a quarterback I think they go chase yeah

I went Yeah, I don’t okay that is true but other than a few people that are really going out on the line in the mock drafts I for the most part I see them sticking that they stick with JC yeah when he cut his draft it they did draft it Dwayne Haskins last year, Dwayne Haskins is really liked by the owner to go out and get another quarterback the year after I know that it happened with the Cardinals but that was kind of one of those situations as a little UD and

but when it comes to I mean unquestionably Miami is wanting probably because they haven’t made any movement Josh Rosen wasn’t spectacular he was a guy that just got traded there anyways, Ryan Fitzpatrick is just a plug gap guy he’s just a groomer unquestionably by him he’s interested in a quarterback same with San Diego tyrod Taylor is not your franchise quarterback. So to say the Aygo so unless it’s a Diego I guess came out and said as believers according to Ian Rapoport who gets is very credible said that they’re just going to say that I kind of get Cam Newton they’re not going to get Josh Rosen they’re not going to get James one says they’re just going to chill They’re going to take a quarterback. So I think at this point we can plan on three quarterbacks going in the top. Six picks, but I do believe if San Diego or Miami really want to otavalo san diego Miami really want Justin Herbert. I believe they will trade up to either three with the lions or definitely for with the Giants because what I’m hearing with the Giants is the giants are pretty much set on taking a tackle. Well they can get so let’s say the Giants trade back with the chargers. They can get the same guy at six that they’ll get it for Yeah, so let’s say they really want Tristen works. Tristen worse will still be there because San Diego will take quarterback Miami will take a quarterback and there’s work so I think and then the Giants will get extra picks. They’ll get later round picks probably for that. So they get extra picks and they still get their guy. So I would expect three quarterbacks to go on the top five.

They could the map Patricia’s on the record saying that Stafford’s or guy, Safford still is very productive. And they haven’t moved Stafford. So a lot of those things. I don’t think they I don’t think so. Now, they could trade back to, let’s say, they could trade back to six, if they think like Isaiah Simmons, or Jeffrey Okuda. Or, I think I think they’re pretty much one of the top end defensive guys. I have seen a Kudu drop in the drafts. I don’t know it mocks. I don’t know why that’s so much happening. But I could see the lions possibly go to six because let’s say let’s say they really want Isaiah seven. They’re like well Isaiah Simmons is gonna be there because that for the Giants aren’t taking. No, I’ll leave that. I have heard. I’ve seen it a few there. I just don’t see that happening. I don’t know where cams gonna go. I heard Newton and Cam Newton aren’t necessarily like poppin teams aren’t exactly clamoring to get either one. And I know that Newton has the injuries, yes, foot injury. And that’s problematic because right now you know, the face to face has been banned because of a Corona virus. So that’s problematic for cam and the jamis. Winston’s just been an inconsistent Pro. So, five years of sample size of a guy that’s just never been really Yeah, really productive. very consistent. A lot of turnovers

He’s productive, but he makes too many mistakes and he doesn’t want it up all game so I just don’t think anyone’s like wow, I want jameis Winston so I don’t know where he’s going to go and I don’t know where cams gonna go. I do believe they’re both going to go somewhere. Ah, I don’t know where I thought really cam to Chicago is a definitely a possible option. But I guess they prefer Nick foles. So yeah, you know, you’ve seen the quarterbacks Some people prefer and other ones are just not moving as quickly but But anyhow, what that kinda was saying I really look at the lions are giants I really think they move out with because they can get extra packs they can get extra really good players while still getting their first round guy because I think the chargers are dolphins are going to kind of try to hedge against each other to try to get the better quarter. Whatever quarterback they want more.

Yeah. If everything goes right now, they have a great, I mean, they’re in a great pedestal right now. And like you were saying, with this older they got two other first round picks. This is great for rebuilding.

Yeah, and that’s why I think there’d be a little bit reluctant to move out of it. That’s why I think because of the all the pics that they have in this year’s draft, and because they also go to other first respects, I think that is why my office in Miami would be reluctant let’s say they like to, but because of his health concerns, they’re like, I don’t want to trade up for him. I don’t want to give anything up for him. And we like Justin Herbert enough that you know what if the charges trade up for two we’re chilling now yeah what if the Chargers trade out for Herbert for some reason guys that I like more than I trust more with their Intel when it comes to the draft like ah mcshea Jeremiah Brooks it’s I they seemingly don’t think I they get kind of the vibe of some statements they’ve made and insinuations that the Chargers don’t love Herbert. Like he’s not Not necessarily what they are looking for. Like they want a little more of an off platform guy. It seems like the dolphins prefer Herbert. I like
