A target date has reportedly been set for the resumption of the 2019-20 NBA season after play was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Stadium NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Friday that the league is eying July 31 as the potential restart date for the season, with NBA commissioner Adam Silver and the league office reportedly informing the Board of Governors of a late-July return.
According to Charania, four different formats have been considered for the conclusion of the season if play can resume. The first option listed would see the NBA abandon the remainder of the regular season and go directly to the playoffs. Among the other three options listed out by Charania include are group/stage play (20 teams total resume play), games to determine seeding with a play-in tournament for final seeds (22 teams total resume play), or all 30 teams finishing what would be an abbreviated 72-game regular season before the start of the playoffs.

I think the NBA is trying to make the best of the situation. I mean, obviously they listen to the doctors, the medical consultants of the city, their own medical professional, the CDC. The World Health Organization. We listen to politicians that are looking in a different meeting, where they listen to the coaches and trainers that think a situation where the NBA is trying to make the best of the situation, and doing the best they can to try to find some closer, as well as keep it safe because there’s no perfect solution. So, at least if we have some kind of games, at this point to me better than nothing.

So I mean, they’re gonna have to see how long it takes them to get those games in and off to how much gains you can get again a short period of time so the longer you go, also impacts next season and also you still have time for like the draft that that events and camber, you have, you know, the agency so it does depend the longer these goals and starting to July 31 is the less amount of registering games you can play or maybe they still boy that they weren’t negative, obviously financially do so getting a neutral number It’s like maybe it’s 75 or 73. What they’re gonna have to see how many games they can get in a short period of time, because remember, you’re cramming such a lot of money games at such a short period of time without reducing the product.

No, on the team single, all the teams shitting go but the NBA is that is one way for anyone they need the money for 70 teams is that the lower threshold at 70 games for local worker, not the now some way they need that money. I mean, it’s tough to really have like a day and sauce, but like, it’s tough to have a date because if you start July 31, ideally, keeping up with a typical NBA schedule, you have the training camp, which you start in October, obviously that’s not gonna happen. So you still have the draft. Then if you even if you can’t do some really you have creatively, then you got to give the players at least two months, three months off considering that, you know, you condense such a short amount of time it’s exhausting even though players have been off gamma three training camp can suck and come back and go games. So you have that you have that three weeks. So you’re looking at maybe like a December start, but even then we didn’t even know where to start because, like 33 is very promising date. But there’s also a chance that that may not happen if it gets worse, hopefully doesn’t but you know, at first, it just depends on when the end you know, is able to finish the plot and as soon and and we don’t even know even though then July 31. It could be five games could be seven games against the push backs. I’m just hoping for the best

And the players can’t come back and the owners can’t work together and make the financial work. If he comes to this concert, he’s gonna have a 14 day quarantine, and even if that’s accelerated for him to be able to come to this country, which I think it probably would be you got a lot of In advance you got to get a flight even as a private jet he’s got to be you know get clear to the country he comes down he got a drink and it’s all set up and then Gary the point so and then we and then at that one location everybody’s gonna gather you know as having a family there so it’s got a lot of logistics

I believe but in June, we’ll see more soccer Premier League has announced they’ll be back on June 17. And also the league is coming back next month as well. And we won’t see the NBA until July 31.
