Glad to be here excited for another Tuesdays with the tide and always a great opportunity to talk about football special When very little sports be employed. Nick Saban’s right hand man, Steve Sarkeesian underwent heart surgery last week and is and is expected to make full recovery. This goal announce on Tuesday, which is today. The 46 year old condition was discovered during an annual physical during coach Sarkisian physical last week, it was determined that he needed a procedure to correct a conch continental cardiovascular anomaly before it became crucial. Justin Were you surprised about these news?

Justin Riley
Yeah, because to be honest with you until the day hadn’t really heard anything on it, but anytime you’re dealing with the heart master serious issue and thankfully he was able to have a good procedure and it appears that he is on the upswing and he’s gonna recover fine, but it’s scary anytime you hear the words heart.

Santiago Leon
Yeah, something that it’s a very crucial situation but I glad he took care of it. Hopefully he’ll get better on time for the season, which we don’t know exactly when that will be, but hopefully sooner than later, and always Justin can give us the honors of what’s gonna happen tonight.

Justin Riley
Man, I can always do that. always glad to provide that for us. Before I get started, hey, if you’re looking for the year round alabama football experience, look no further than ramaa jammas is owned by Michael abran. Open for nearly 21 years. They stopped him for the best food and gameday experience you’ll ever have just asked for Sean Evans and Tony Brown. All right. Without further ado, I want to introduce to you one of the hardest working and most clutch wide receivers in Alabama history. He won the re Perkins most improved wide receiver award and he is responsible for one of the greatest plays I’ve ever seen Alabama history, ladies and gentlemen. Water Seaver Mac Adele.

Matt Caddell
Yes, what’s going on? Glad to be here. Thanks for having me.

Santiago Leon
Man, welcome to the sports cast.

Matt Caddell
Glad to be on the sports cast. Speaking of ramaa jammers, little story we have 6am workouts in the summer and my teammates the prime McLean tans food. After our early workouts we will go over to straight to kurama gems and have a good breakfast so well

Santiago Leon
well what do you usually get?

Matt Caddell
I used to get what is it the two eggs one meat? I would get like the bacon eggs and grits and it will always be so good. It was like $3 so affordable. You know, in college you like this is the best so that was good

Justin Riley
for college students, man.

Santiago Leon
Well, anyways, uh, Matt Cordell, another Alabama legend. As I would describe it, tell us what are you been up to these days and how are you handling the pandemic?

Matt Caddell
I’m just working from home. I’m in the pharmaceutical industry. So kind of been working from Home doing a lot of virtual lunches and things like that a lot of phone calls but you know they’re kind of ease restrictions the past couple a month or so and they received some in person and you know it’s it’s crazy you know just like everybody you know, trying to limit my hands to face contact and washing my hands and having sanitizer everywhere where am I mass it’s it’s a new thing where new world we’re experiencing but all in all families doing well. We’re staying healthy, just taking it day by day and you know just trying to hopefully that we can do everything we can to flatten the curve that way we can have college football because that’s that’s to be honest. That’s the only reason one thing I hope is not get canceled is college football because we have some huge games coming to Tuscaloosa.

Justin Riley
Oh, absolutely.

Santiago Leon
Man, what have you heard from your end, have your anything about life. They’d like to schedule changing or like what have you heard?

Matt Caddell
I haven’t heard anything. From what I’m hearing this is kind of my speculation what I’m guessing might happen. I mean, you heard some things from like USC regarding schools, you hear things about, you know, Texas, you know they’re spiking and how certain stadiums might not be at full capacity. So, you know, hopefully I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully by the time we get the September burse UFC game, most stakes should have, you know, have declining, you know, cobit number of cases shouldn’t be spiking and hopefully by then, my guess is going to be you know, Alabama just said they’re doing the digital tickets this year is probably a temperature checks that stadiums fans probably have to get there earlier. They might not be able to do it. Capacity initially, but hopefully they’ll be having full capacity for that. third game play Georgia So,

Justin Riley
gotta have it.

Matt Caddell
Everybody wants to be at full capacity for that Georgia game so you know, just keeping Fingers crossed, but I haven’t heard anything. What about you guys? Have you guys heard of anything?

Santiago Leon
We’ve been hearing obviously limited fan base. I think it could be zero fans to 25% started off and I know that Justin I’ve been hearing sec only games for the SEC teams.

Matt Caddell
Oh, wow.

Justin Riley
Yeah, I actually have a co worker that is an SEC referee And right now, all the referees are in the dark just like we are and they really don’t have any idea what kind of game plan that they’re gonna be looking at themselves. So it’s pretty crazy. But one thing he was saying that more than likely, we’re probably Looking at a all sec schedule, and then once all the conferences have played their conference schedules then have a top four playoff like we normally have. But then that raises the question though, how do you really decide with a city? situation like this? Who are the top four teams?

Matt Caddell
Yeah, um, I don’t know. I just think if we’re gonna do all sec, we might as well just do a tournament, like a build of all the power fives and just rank it and just have it like that. I think

Santiago Leon
that’s what I was thinking. I’ve always been proponent, you know, the term of the top four between the power five, but then you got the PAC 12 that they have a little bit more issues. They might even cancel on the whole season. craps.

Matt Caddell
Yeah, I mean, I totally agree. But outside of Oregon, I mean, was anybody really thinking about the pack to

Santiago Leon
be true? It’s true cuz you Washington and Arizona state but they’re not as far as Oregon Oregon is doing well with recruiting.

Matt Caddell
So yes, Oregon is probably be the contender. And I think, you know, the big 10 is you know, you have a higher stay in say you have Michigan, then they’re strong conference, you have the SEC. Outside of Clemson in the ACC. It’ll be okay. But as long as you have what, you know, Texas Oklahoma zone, I think it’ll be a good tournament. I mean, I think that’s what I will be trying to do just have tournaments. And that’s the best way we can get the season.

Santiago Leon
Yeah. And of course, like the other sports like soccer, I mean, there’s having a bunch of mini tournament NBA as well. And I think I think baseball they’re just doing it regularly. But yeah, I think I have a college football tournament has something for the fan base to lick on. So anyways, Matt, tell us what led you to football.

Matt Caddell
Obviously, I mean to ask my parents when I was growing up, I just love football. My mom will not let me play football like that the peewee level because she thought I was gonna get her thoughts too dangerous. Like all the kids were from like makalah Matador area, their pants were always the coaches like always trying to recruit me play football because you know as typically one of the fastest students at the school more athletic growing up and I just always had football passion. So I always play in the front yard, always in the neighborhood with friends and I just became involved in especially cause football like I will record games. And I can tell you, I will have all the like Athlon sports magazines and Boris Davis recruiting magazines like I would know every stat about just about every player. I will watch. I just love college football and so that’s what kind of you know, just draw the passion for me and of course growing up Jerry Rice was like, I’ve just fell in love with Jerry Rice like it was my favorite player. And so I just wanted to play the receiver. So that’s kind of what started it for me at a young age who

Santiago Leon
like Who was your favorite teams back then?

Matt Caddell
Obviously, the 40 Niners I really liked the 40 Niners because of Jerry Rice. You know, I just thought he was, you know, the greatest receiver. And, you know, as I got older, like so, been at Macedonia growing up, you know, Bo Jackson’s such a big deal is such a big Auburn fan base in that area. And so I actually, you know, grew up liking Auburn, and a lot of Auburn fans from my hometown, they still give me messaged me about it to this day.

Santiago Leon
But uh,

Matt Caddell
yeah, so I just never forget when I was young, I remember seeing the 92 team and I remember seeing like, date, David Palmer, and I was like, Oh my gosh, like anyone and so championship and so I was like, Wow, so that’s kind of open the the women Though for me like in Alabama and as I got older, you know, being recruited, you know, it just felt like at home you know for Alabama so yeah that’s that’s kind of for me 40 Niners For me it was my

Santiago Leon
Who was your college team back then

Matt Caddell
college saying ah like Auburn just because of the whole Matador Bo Jackson connection but then you know I grew up in the air where you know Steve Spurrier had the Florida Gators rolling and you know Danny warfel and I kill you so I just became a fan of like college football and mainly sec football. So I really like the Florida Gators. Niner 40 gainers with Steve Spurrier with no I kill you that team all the receivers that offens huge fan of I know this is almost blasphemous, but I still think Tennessee was pretty cool when they had just because of their defense when they had that run without listening Little I just thought they were like to be on the defensive man. You know, even like how money when he had, you know, the the running shoe offense? I was just a fan of just about everybody. sec. And so I was just just growing up I really, you know you had the Auburn kind of background but I was just a fan of like college football mainly. No the SEC or some of the big programs. Charles Woodson, I used to want to go to Michigan because of him so I can go on and on. Just talking about my childhood, love for college football.

Justin Riley
Man, we had similar childhoods that you said he talked about the Athlon sports magazines man I was at the stands every summer waiting for the new edition to be released. And then if I didn’t have that I was going through my dad’s closet, get his old issues out and collecting those and you know taking pictures out putting them online. wall you mentioned that 99 to national championship team that’s the team that really sold me on Alabama and you mentioned a great David Palmer the deuces lose and I was just a great time but yeah man things turned out pretty well for you You’re a four star recruit maca Dory, you play virtually every position at MCE Dorie also has several accolades including 12 points return for touchdowns. So what made you choose Alabama out of all the schools just named especially with the state of the program at that time, um, for me,

Matt Caddell
kind of take them fans on a trip down memory lane with this one. So let me just set this up. The class of 2003 class is probably one of the better, more talented classes that ever come through the state of Alabama. I mean, you had Tim Castiel You know, he was like all American, myself and Ron Chad Jackson, Jason Swain. So a lot of college coaches. We’re in the state of Alabama and we’re making noise like our sophomore year. So a lot of offers are coming in like our sophomore year and one of the first offers I got received was from Alabama and to me back then, I feel like recruiting the top recruiting teams that I felt like really did. Were one and two was obviously a cost saving LSU they just always brought a lot of energy and emotion when it came to recruiting. But Coach ranchod I felt like his staff when he was Alabama, they really were really good recruiters. He had, you know, close termidor he had a lot of guys I was just he had a really good program. So I really liked Alabama, really enjoyed the love. Auburn was heavily recruited me as I’ve mentioned LSU South Carolina was kind of in my mix, and really joy at TED, those were kind of the schools I kind of my top five, but you know, I just felt like everywhere I would go I just felt like and you know, nothing’s like Alabama, you know, so I just felt at home and that’s what I saw did it for me, the staff, the campus, the university or tradition, the program we know that’s what did it for me. And that’s why I want to go to Alabama,

Santiago Leon
who like who which are close second.

Matt Caddell
All second. Oh, man, I’ll probably say LSU because I thought about coming to LSU. My junior and I thought about coming to Auburn at one point, but I just, I just didn’t jump the gun. I just thought it was a little bit too early, you know, junior year but yeah, I will say those were kind of like my top threes and then a wildcard will probably would have been Georgia Tech. And then I feel like South Carolina recruited me very heavy. They were very convincing. So my two and three obviously probably LSU and our

Santiago Leon
was Nick Saban is a recurring muscles as strong as it is like right now you think are like that?

Matt Caddell
Yeah, it was. I just remember I think Kirby was one of the coaches. Wow. And I remember they were like their recruiting was this. Like one of the big things and back then was you know, kind of camps and things. And I remember Oh, you know, in the fall phone call and it was so much energy they were like, now you come here for the camp, you’ll be like huge mark is Chad. Jason suela all the top players in the state and he’s like, Man, you really you’re really convincing you know? So yeah, they I mean Coach Saban FL a recruiting was was second to none as you can tell. Now he loves recruit in Alabama program to this day. So um, yeah, I mean, they do a great job.

Justin Riley
You did come down Alabama after all. And like I mentioned earlier, it was during a very uncertain time and for a lot of people who aren’t as familiar as you and I are as to what I’m talking about, let me set this up. We’re starting to come off of probation. And we’re still rebuilding on their first year. Coach Mike Shula. What was the atmosphere like at that time in Tuscaloosa as you were coming in?

Matt Caddell
Well, I’m gonna go and stuff farther. So, you know, I think I had just committed to Alabama and like a lot of the you know, a lot of my teammates Tim Castille classmates, Lauren McClain, Terrence Jones, we were you know, Coach Fran was Lino saying he’s gonna stay at Alabama the next scene Oh, it he up and leaves with Texas in him and so you know, a lot of uncertainty. We love holding the rope so to speak, and yeah, You know, it was just at the end of the day. We could have went anywhere else. But it was just something about Alabama like Tuscaloosa. Like, it’s it’s one of those programs that is hard to pass on. And you know, we were a type of guys that we were committed to going to University of Alabama, regardless of the terminal of the program. And, you know, we just wanted to be at the University of Alabama and we love this. So we stuck with it. You know, it wasn’t like how it is now, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything. We talked about it to this day, how much like we enjoyed our experience at University of Alabama.

Santiago Leon
Would you learn from Mike Shula?

Matt Caddell
A coach Shula, I will say, you know, he, he really did have a head coaching experience, but he was off his mind because he really knew how to you know, really how to set up the defenses and I really learned more a lot. I learned a lot about the offensive strategy, game plan from him. So I will give him that. As you can tell, you know, he’s been in the league, he’s still, I think one of the offensive coordinators in the NFL. So he has that office of pedigree and so I feel like he really helped me learn, you know, dive a little bit deeper in the office of skiing, why you’re doing this why you call certain plays in this situation. So I will give him that.

Justin Riley
I want to stay with what you mentioned earlier about that class that you’re coming in, because that particular Alabama class your classes was the one I got introduced to my last semester there with Coach Pollard the shrink coach. I talked to Rudy Griffin about this last month both Santiago and I did it seems like your class was very hungry and just so eager to right the ship at Alabama. Matter of fact, the comment had been made. Several times in practices and whatnot that y’all felt like you’re scouting could go up against anyone sec. What gave your group that mentality

Matt Caddell
I just think this is the type of character we have. We’re just you know, very competitive athletes relentless want to be the best and we’re very close knit and so you know when you have that camaraderie, that closeness that that bond with your teammates, I mean, we’re always competitive, like, be competitive, like in our all time so we just always felt like I know, from a receiver standpoint, we just always felt like can nobody stop us if we went for a while. It’s like, it’s like any two minute drill. I mean, you go pro throw myself DJ Hall, Keith Brown, we felt like we could not be stopped and we just went for a while. It’s our game. So but yeah, that’s kind of the competitiveness, the mindset. said that we’ve always had growing up and being in that class,

Santiago Leon
which player when you’re like that first year, which player really impressed you the most

Matt Caddell
on the team or in my class on the team on the team you’re on. So many guys is really, the be honest, I will never forget when I first saw Anthony Bryant,

Justin Riley
God, man,

Matt Caddell
I’ll never forget.

Justin Riley
He was a bear.

Matt Caddell
I thought he was big, but I didn’t know how massive he was. And I was like, but he was so athletic. I was like, man, when I first saw his cameras, I was like, Oh my god, like, I didn’t know human being could be that big. So I was really impressed by him. Obviously, just the older guys, you know, Brody had a cannibal arm but just really You know being a young wide receiver and having gone inside defense I mean you had to go against guys like Freddie Roach. Demeter runs in light running slant routes across the middle they that deepens with canoes wear them man they did not wear this 707 Touch whatever they were a physical group of guys you know Charlie pepper aroma Harper so that defense helped make us you know made us tougher and to really be enhance our skill set so when we got on the bill we really knew how to you know play physical and be physical at their

Justin Riley
rally you You’re definitely right about Anthony Brian, that man was just a mountain of a man and just it was amazing. His physical as large as that man was. He could dunk a basketball he used to do that and those what was nice they used to have where we they would do the benchpress maxes yeah all the way through.

Matt Caddell
Yeah, Night of Champions. What a nice

Justin Riley
campion’s and he would get to do a little Duncan for the crowd man and I still can’t believe that big of a man got off the ground and one didn’t bring the backboard down. Yeah, yeah. But those those fun times, man, a lot of talented guys, man, you know, just wish we could have all put it together because we had the talent you know. So right.

Santiago Leon
Was it an issue with the coach and you think if it was someone else or

Matt Caddell
I mean obviously Yeah, looking back. Looking back obviously being another coach Shula and co saving, you know, coaching does make a difference, being innovative, really instilling confidence in your players really getting the depth that she needs to compete at a high level and sec, bringing in the top tier recruits that you need to have on the team. So I feel like coaching and having creativity as I defense which is I mean albums known for defense by defense. We’re pretty steady back then. Especially that was a 2005 team. Yeah, they were they were just studies and I just feel like we could have used a little bit more. A little more innovativeness, a little creativity on the offensive and that really kind of opened up our offense. But that’s what Rudy said.

Santiago Leon
Yeah, yeah, he brought that up. He said that it was more offensive defense back then. Yeah,

Justin Riley
more defensive than offensive and one of the things that really bothered me it seems like everything was running through Tyrone pro throw, which of course mean all due respect. He armed it, but as soon as he went down, unfortunately, it’s like, they had no other plan. We had some great receivers like you and Keith brown DJ Hall. I mean, it just it just blew my mind with that much talent how we weren’t able to get together good offensive game plan. Then he had Ken Darby in the in the backfield, too, so that was just yeah, I mean,

Matt Caddell
yeah, you just needed offensive innovativeness to really utilize all our playmakers and play to their strengths. And I feel like we kind of lacked That creativity because we were very predictable offensively You know, there used to be Chinna Darby Ray Hudson to the left or at the end with throw on third down so you know we could have had that you know the innovativeness of the offense like it is today I feel like especially that oh fire team we could have done even more especially when be LSU that you have to I mean, yeah,

Justin Riley
they want to touch on that a little bit like you said, things seem to be on the upswing for Alabama and 2005. After that tend to finish we had the huge Cotton Bowl when and it looked like we were back but then the next season we finished six and six and had that last oklahoma state that independence bowl. course as everyone knows Coachella was fired and the Nick Saban era began. Can you tell us what the atmosphere was like and then the differences in coaching style

Matt Caddell
Oh man the atmosphere.

Justin Riley
I mean, is this too and you can add that to the list? Was everyone buying in as well?

Santiago Leon
Well, great question.

Matt Caddell
Yeah, great question. First I answer that first the atmosphere. You know, it was kind of the same thing. You know, I really you really didn’t have the energy, the competence. I felt like that’s what Coach Shula lacked like you really need to have that leadership. You got to you know, like Coach Saban is like, He always talks about taking the bull by the horns, you know, instilling that, that that relentless will and confidence and driving your players and we’ve, we weren’t getting that. So it was kind of like the atmosphere was kind of average, I would say, you read the players had to do a lot of stuff. But when Coach Saban got there, I mean, you have energy from every position Coach enthusiam As relentless drive, they’re pushing you to new heights, new levels. And that’s what really, to me, that was the biggest difference because shaman really knows how to bring the best out of his players. And I felt like in fairness to coach Shula, he didn’t really know that or didn’t really have that from his staff because he was this is his first time being a head coach and his first time being a head coach at a major university program. So, you know, he didn’t have that experience. But then, you know, a couple years in, he still didn’t have that experience. I felt like, you know, my more, you know, knew the outcome and needed a step in the right direction needed some new spark and a human and made a home or a higher cost saving and it’s been we’ve been reaping the rewards of having co saving here at Alabama.

Santiago Leon
What aspects that Nick Saban bring to the table obviously I mean like what it sounds was like a it was night and day. But what did you learn from Nick Saban?

Matt Caddell
Just to really, really be a student of the game and like how to be a student of the game and really studying truly studying what you know defenses or opponents are trying to do to you. He made us that much more smarter. He made us that much more confident in our skill set because he pushed us. I say that first year man, that was one of the toughest his first year was like it was brutal. It was it was so hard man. It was tough because he had to instill histogram. And even to this day, like we’ll go I’ll never forget I went up there was this past year and coach Burns was like, Man, these guys they wouldn’t have made it compared to how you guys are to that first year but like all that paid off cost saving you know, it’s still have a lot of confidence. enthusiasm, like I said, being a student of the game. really been, that that championship mentality of having to win the will to win on the field as well as off the field. He was laying that foundation with us. And as you can see, it’s paying off right now. So there’s so many things cost saving has done. I still live on today just you know, just being the best at what you do, whether it’s in the classroom on the bill. So those are the things that that go beyond, you know, your height, your speed, you know, catching the ball that really make even more of an exceptional student athlete.

Santiago Leon
How discipline was it compared to Shula? Was he like, very strict? That was it like you gotta get at the locker room at 6am?

Matt Caddell
Oh, it’s very strict. I mean, it’s, I mean, practice is so much structure in practice. Nobody’s sending around like everybody’s doing something everybody’s getting better. You’re going from drill to drill. Everything has Every drill has a method. It’s just a constant improving from the coaches in from the players and it’s nonstop. He has a method to this madness and obviously, it must work because everybody wants to hire a coach from him. So yeah, he always has a message. And he knows how to bring the best knowledge out to players about the coaches. And so it was very, it’s so much discipline, I really hone my discipline skills under Coach Saban. You know, he really and that’s what’s gonna pay off, you know, doing everything right being discipline is really how you, you know, get those championship teams.

Justin Riley
I do want to touch on the 2017 season like he mentioned in your first his first year, of course, one of the aspects of it as one of the things that you’re widely known about, so I’m going to set that up in 2000 Seven we went into week three to one out of phase number 16. Arkansas loaded Arkansas with Darren McFadden, Felix Jones and Peyton Hillis got off to a great star were up 21 to nothing. However, we found ourselves down 3834 with just over two seconds remaining. What happened next was one of the top plays at the Saban era, Alabama history and your career. Can you touch on that moment for me?

Matt Caddell
Yes, let me touch on the game. So Carcassonne was like number 60 and you know, they succeed Reagan is like our first big home game. And I just remember it was like so electric in the stadium. So he kind of had a feeling like this is gonna be a good game. We were very prepared. We were very focused really. Some damage and get a win first Arkansas but they had man ahead, Dan McFadden. Felix the runningback and Peyton Hillis All those guys are in the NFL. So, you know he’s tonight, you know, he just really had effective running game and I think we jumped on those guys. I think we jumped on him, I think maybe like 1421 nothing and then also Dan McFadden, Felix Jones show and they came back and we kind of went back and forth and we get to the fourth quarter and I think we had to make a stop because we were down I believe maybe four or five points and we had to make a stop on a key third down and I think Zeke Knight may like zekiel night made a key, yet a key pass break up for us to get the ball back. And I just remember talking to JP I was like, man, we’re gonna we’re gonna win this game because I mean, Coach Saban always puts his teams in situations like this where you know, you’re you’re prepared for moments and you’re confident to go out there and execute and so we’re so prepared and confident I just remember telling JP like, two and a half minutes Well, before we go into it, I was like, man, we’re gonna we’re gonna go win this game we’re gonna go win this game. And so we drove the ball like I believe 67 yards and we get to the last play. And I remember like everything we’re like on a three to four something like then I just remember breaking the huddle in Latin practices all the time. Remember, like, for that play, I will I have the option to either leave it on or you know kind of break it off into another route and I’m communicating with JP without trying to get away give it away. And he just kept it on so I was like, Okay, here we go. And you know, you just so bogus one thing I love about co saving he disciplines you guys to be so focused and you know each play has its history. All you have to do is do your job and execute You know, ran the route guide open up and some are protected JP laid a great ball up there. And I just went up there and caught it. And you know, you’re so you’d have such laser focus. You don’t even know that you play you’re doing this in front of like 90 some thousand a year on national TV. He just made a catch on thing I’m thinking about is making this catch even though and I just remember coming down with the kids and like, wrote getting up having the ball. And I just remember Andre Smith, Mike Johnson come in and like tackling me everybody jumping on me and it was just pandemonium and Brian, Danny, and I feel like that was one of cost saving special moments because that was really like his first big win against a top opponent. Because I believe Arkansas was ranked number 16. And so it was just a proud moment I think of saving, you know, built on that where you know that moment Next year for the LA team, because, you know, they made they run and so that was a special moment for our team, you know, just show that we can do it. We just, you know, focus and do have the discipline and the confidence and have the preparation and got the execute you can win. So it was a very proud moment.

Santiago Leon
Was that your most memorable game?

Matt Caddell
Yes. Oh, yes, of course. And I just remember I think album had a had a full quarter when it’s so long. So it was you know, it’s been some years for it and you know, to have it in coach Saban’s first year you know, one of the greatest coaches of all time to have his first big thing in at Alabama, I you know, our forever chairs and still to this day, people still talk about it. They’re like, man, I’ll never forget when I was there, man. I just jumped everywhere I was. I always get all these stories. You know, whatever I made. People So, you know it’s a memorable game.

Justin Riley
Okay that it was we were upset number 16 Durango, Arkansas 41 to 38 at home got a signature when we ended up beating Tennessee which I thought was one of the best games of the season anytime we’d beat Tennessee I’m excited about that. We almost be LSU still contend that cash of yours as a rule of no man was

Santiago Leon
about the eyes. It tells about that story,

Matt Caddell
man oh my gosh, I wouldn’t. So I have this kind of love hate. I will I’m not gonna say much love like referees, but

Santiago Leon
I love this.

Matt Caddell
Like, I’ll never forget like I cannot stand this referee because I mean even after my after my senior year, like I would see this guy representing game I buy oh my gosh, here you go. You know he’s gonna make some crazy As he calls versus Alabama or whatnot but yeah I’ll go back to that play like we were trying to go on back and forth from LSU and we needed a big play and I just remember we call it a play I got open versus safety JP put a great ball up there and I remember making the catch and I got up with the ball and everything and then like barely reviewing it like where they’re viewing I’m I took us on Michael save I made this catch and you know, and we would we would have the ball on like the 10 yard line or something like that. And the referee overturned it and you know, it was this is like somebody just hit you in your stomach. You know, it’s just it was so gut wrenching, but you know, one thing because saving teaches us how to deal with adversity. You know, everything’s might not go your way but you still have to overcome it. So we stopped kept we kept fighting but when we lost the game, it was a close game, but we lost but if you Look back at that play we, if they do not overturn that call, we easily win that game. But yeah, so this day I had a guy to work with. He was saying man that they robbed you, man, they robbed you. That was a catch and all that stuff and I think that kind of sparked some controversial calls between Alabama and LSU. You know, he goes to the I think that was the first one in oh seven and then I think the next one in LA, I think was it Patrick Peterson and yeah, Leo on the sideline. It kind of went back and forth so it’s like you know, it’s that game always kind of one play here one play there. But yeah, that was I mean, I I could not i’m not i’m not gonna hate anybody but that

Santiago Leon
was everybody go play?

Matt Caddell
Yeah, I’m like mad just give such a bad feeling. I never been so hurt you know even the team everybody like we were watching them I think what Sunday or Monday everybody was just still upset so this you know is just just a bad feeling but not be LSU this year that’s all

Santiago Leon
Hey Justin, one more. One more before we head into the NFL.

Justin Riley
Yeah yeah well of course as you’re starting out so well we finished the season in a disappointing fashion losses to Mississippi State and we all can’t forget Louisiana Monroe but in the constellation was the winner Colorado in the bowl game. We had the talent for a great season. What do you feel led to that freefall?

Matt Caddell
Um, you know, I really think that what is it that suspension we had? Because we lost some key guys? Yeah. Yeah,

Justin Riley
I forgot what should Marlin day is on

Matt Caddell
the line, Antwan call Well, yeah, and those guys and so if we applied, we don’t have those issues, or, like if we beat LSU even, they don’t overturn that call, like the season can go a totally different way. So, but, you know, we were still learning, you know, so we just still had to learn and that was a big learning process for us, you know, really, you know, when things might not go your way, you know, you still have to overcome adversity, and, you know, win and go out there and compete and do your best and execute. And, you know, we’re still still kind of had those old habits and our old mentality but like you said earlier, we overcame that eventually, and we finished the season strong. I think that really we had a lot of momentum for Alabama going into that season you know, kind of having that rough patch where we lost Louisiana morale and Mississippi State etc. But you know, you live in you learn you know, having those adverse times and trials really builds character and you know, you learn from those lessons. So when you get in real life, you know, you might have tragedies or whatever my hits you that you know how to stay focus and keep doing what you’re doing to get through tough times.

Santiago Leon
Man, Matt, Okay, tell us your pre NFL Draft days. What were the scouts telling you and the whole process

Matt Caddell
so I was hitting like, late, late draft pig late round draft. You know, obviously our restricted free agent. Um, I just had talents that a lot of scouts were you know, they They say they can see potential. One thing about the NFL they want to see do on a consistent basis. So, you know, I really, really just, you know, exploded into co saving. So I really had to prove that. And so I just trained I was working out with some teammates or go to Marcus Waldrop and we just worked out on the 40 I knew I had the skills and the quickness and agility and all that stuff. And yeah, I just focus on the pro day. I didn’t get an invite to the combine. But so the AMS pro day was kind of my big deal. And I had a very exceptional day. I think I jumped like a 39 and a half and now ran for three days. So I was excited about that. So no teams were you know, kind of inquiring and I had a couple of this was some teams and I know at one point, I thought I was going to get picked up by the bears and last with their seventh round pick but they went with some receiver that was from Arkansas named monk. So

Justin Riley
yeah,

Matt Caddell
yeah, I thought I was going to be that pig but they went with him. So, you know, I didn’t get drafted but I had a couple teams that wanted me to sign with them. free agents so I was with the St. Louis ran in my welcoming to the NFL and I did not know the NFL was such a business. Of course, you did join the rounds. Once you got there you are receiving some guidance from two greats Dante Hall and Tory Hall. For those of you newer school folks, you’re going to remember how great they were. But how are they able to help you transition to the NFL? Well, first let me set this up like my friends. I’m going into the locker room, you know, you have like rookie minicamp and you know, I was very impressive. They’re making a lot of plays the mini camp and then you get to otas. It’s kind of when all the players come over throughout the summer and you’re working out watching film, it’s kind of like a mini camp. And I never forget walking into the locker room and I see. I’m, like, starstruck. I’m like, Oh my god, like that’s an endo pace. Oh my goodness. Like, he’s a Hall of Famer. I see Tori Hall and I was just like, oh, my goodness, like I was just starstruck like all the guys that you see on Sundays. It’s kind of like, you know, you want to be a fan. You kind of have that fan moment like, I want to get these guys autograph. gonna have a bad moment like, Oh my gosh, like this toy? Whoa. alando pay Steven Jackson like, I don’t know. It’s so you kind of once you get over that, you know, it’s like, you know, you Doing what you can to make the team and be on the roster and compete. And you know, just you know, the the older veterans they will see they will see a lot of me, you know, for me a guy like me especially teams, it’s kind of like your way to get on a roster stay on the team and you know, I would do my best on special teams by Phil I was very competitive on the scout team, like going against that first team defense and stuff like that and I’ll make plays at the plays and I feel like that’s what kept me you know, with the Rams within the organization but you know, having guys I mean forget like Tori hope I never forget this one camp. I like did an exception around if I broke a guy off and scored a touchdown in practice and like totally a hole was like, yeah, that’s what I’m talking about. That’s what I’m saying, man. I see you man is like wow, like this complimented me and they like kind of took me under their wings like Dante Hall. Like just telling me the you know, the intricacies of like running routes really having you know, wherever it’s releases or different trails you can work on a really separate

Matt Caddell
from defenders and get open so yeah, like it was awesome experience you know, not that many people had are able to get the experience so yeah, I enjoyed my time when the St. Louis Rams were in Rams way in St. Louis.

Justin Riley
You saw a lot of you know, star wars of course. You know, I don’t blame me for being a fanboy at that time, but you did have a familiar face. You know, Ken Dalby was there Did he helped make that transition a little bit easier, a little more comfortable?

Matt Caddell
Yeah. I mean, it’s it’s great to have a demo guy like it’s so funny in NFL. You’ll be surprised how much guys talk about college football. Like it’s like the number one Topic a conversation in locker rooms. Lesson One football season comes around late Oh, I’m not ready for this. I never forget it was I was a DB from Clemson there. So I think Alabama opened up against Clemson and no eight and like we think that was like, we beat. We beat them pretty bad Atlanta. And I’ll never forget going back. A lot of guys taught me this and I don’t think it was a tidy I forgot What’s the name of the tight end. But he was a big Georgia fan. He was talking so much. He was like he knows what happened. We are coming to Athens. You know, that was the famous blackout blackout. I was so glad to go to practice the next day and just talk about, you know, the next week and talk about you know how to tie ruled against Georgia. But um, yeah, I mean, college football is huge and NFL locker rooms and it’s a big topic of conversation.

Santiago Leon
That’s quite interesting. Yeah, no college football is it’s a it’s like in a very important part of sports you know, it’s I can’t say I mean it’s might be as good as pro to be honest and anyways, um so tell us like the rest of your NFL career and what led you to your departure of it.

Matt Caddell
So I was there so the NFL they had kept me on practice squad and so we had a couple of injuries so I thought I was gonna get active like the last couple of games but the guys ended up plan so you know, he just really traveled with the team you’re a part of the team so after the season, you know it’s kind of like free agency offseason. I didn’t have a long term contract. So I will have a couple workouts with teams. I worked out with the browns, I worked out with the Patriots, I worked out with the bills, but I didn’t get a contract and so you know, no athlete has to go through Like, do I want to continue to do this? Do I want to do Canadian? Do I want to continue have workouts? Or do I just want to, you know, focus on, you know, utilizing my degree in the business world. So, you know, I had a couple workouts no concrete contract on the table. So I was like, You know what, I’m gonna focus on my career out the field in the business world, and I try to get into coaching. So I kind of did that. And I’ve been doing pharmaceutical sales for like the past five years or so. So then I coached a little bit in Alabama and I kind of in high school coach at Bessemer city, and I post that Carver in Birmingham, and since I’ve been in Georgia, I kind of helped out with Woodstock Middle School since eighth grade, so it’s pretty fun. I just, you know, just once you’re a football player, you just kind of like to stay around the game and you know, it Time I can help develop young people or you know, do bad really help them to be successful in life. I enjoy it so yeah, so led me to the author bill

Santiago Leon
was the CFL like the Canadian league. Was that a strong option for a lot of different players and like the practice squads Was that something that was a very strong possibility for a lot of people.

Matt Caddell
Yeah, I mean, you know, some guys they can make careers. I think one Simpson May I think he was made for Wow. And so you want to come? Yeah, after he won a couple championships up there and things like that. So yeah, it’s an option. But for me, I was like, um, do I want to do Canadian I thought about it, but I was like, you know, I don’t know. I’d rather focus on my career and focus on the business. Well, you know, so that’s kind of my that’s what helped with my thought process. He didn’t And jawan saw Simpson he he played for a number of years for Saskatchewan but after he finished I think he coached for a while I don’t know if he’s still coaching but I guess once you go to Canada it’s really hard to leave but you’ve excelled in the pharmaceutical sales industry but I want to touch on your coaching a little bit is that something that you see could see one day doing full time? Yes, I actually can I actually had a dream last night and he said wow, yeah, um yeah, I can actually see that I mean been around the game. When I was at investment city, you know, the program was not strong. Before we got there kind of average and then we we got there led by coach Edwards. We went like 10 and three went to light to the third round when we lost last minute best AB in the battery. Cuz buddy Anderson those guys have sad yeah so but uh yeah I really can see myself coaching full time probably on the high school level is probably that would be my my lane I would like to do I mean I like college but you know college is pretty demanding like you have to deal with the recruiting you have to deal with the offseason traveling all that stuff and I just feel like at the high school level you can really have your hands on with you know really helping develop young man making the transition in the library you have a really big impact on guys. I just look at some of my high school coaches, middle school coaches that really helped me made me love the game they really helped me improve at that level.

Santiago Leon
Yeah, and of course you know, you have that Nick Saban Alabama connection. So I guess I’ll ask you Hey, what’s good high school play out there and that probably a very exciting for you to answer.

Matt Caddell
Oh, yes. For sure. A lot of people like to bring that up. So yeah, I mean, you can see talent. I mean, playing games this past year, I was looking at this eighth grade kid and I was like, man, I need to tell Coach Saban like you need to look at this guy like he’s gonna be like, but

Santiago Leon
yeah, it is true like some coaches really can know his talent from like a young 1213 or levels is incredible.

Matt Caddell
Yeah, I’m not sure who we’re playing. But I saw this kid he played receiver and DB Hughes is so good houses. And I would love for that kid to be on my team. He would be having offers his ninth grade year like his next year, but he was just so talented. Yeah, you can see a lot of talent at that young, a young age and I feel like that’s one thing. What makes a successful coach if you can evaluate talent you can see like, Okay, this kid’s got it. Or he has the potential to be in like play to his strengths and utilize his strengths. I feel like that’s what made successful coaches like, you know, Coach Saban. He knows how to recruit the best he can evaluate talent. He knows how to bring out the points of their strengths apply. Those always make great coaches like

Santiago Leon
Justin one more before rapidfire.

Justin Riley
Yeah, absolutely. Well, talking about Coach Saban, what takeaways from Coach Shula Saban and even coach Hazlitt to you incorporate into your coaching style.

Matt Caddell
Um, I feel like the most important thing is being discipline you know, dealing with kids like younger kids now you know, being discipline discipline is kind of the hardest thing to instill because in the they might not want to do it’s they don’t want finish all the way through the line, they don’t want to touch the line and you got to start over. And I feel like if you can get over that display hurdle, you know, that kind of opens the Pandora’s box. So always trying to instill discipline, the correct way teaching technique, because those are the things that’s going to help them beyond life, you know, off the field, having that discipline, knowing how to be on time and knowing how to be a team player, bring out the best out of everybody. I feel like you know, having integrity having high character executed doing your job. I feel like those characteristics, if you can instill in players really make the best players and so those are kind of the things that I learned from coaches like obviously Coach Saban, Coach hazlit, you know, him being the coordinator in the NFL. The NFL is such a business you have to be disciplined because you don’t have quite the support. Staff like you’re your own boss like you don’t see oh so you’d have to make sure you know you’re on time you’re at this workout and all that stuff so

Santiago Leon
yeah, you’re giving us a lot of insight is interesting stuff. Okay I like how you answers like wow this is a you know like you’ll hear it every so often but it’s quite interesting the whole I don’t wanna say business of football but it pretty much what it is. Yeah, it’s

Matt Caddell
it’s such a business like and and just and piggyback off your point like I didn’t know how much of a business it is like you can be way talented than a guy but if they drafted a guy like hire like they’re gonna make sure they kind of get return on that investment if that makes sense. You know, they give them more leeway to make Yeah, and it’s Yeah, it’s like, like you see all the you see all the dollars I’ll never forget like bye My first NFL experience and seeing checks with like, million dollar checks I was like oh my gosh like it’s like a real thing so I can only imagine when that check comes through for Patrick mahomes what how many zeros and that’s like a real thing like seeing guys get checks and that was when I was there like you would go pick up your check and like me, I think Mark Bolger like he had this big contract with St. Louis and yeah like a couple million like it was nothing I’m like why it’s like this isn’t that’s kind of like a real eye opening experience to like the NFL but at the end of the day, everybody gets taxed. So it’s not like

Santiago Leon
yeah, depends where you live. If you’re playing for the Giants you get double tax state. Yeah,

Matt Caddell
you’re getting tax. That’s like a real experience when it comes to taxes. So you like what? I’m losing this much. So yeah,

Santiago Leon
well, this part of the show is rapid fire. Quick, quick, quick questions and quick answers. Are you ready? Let’s do it. I’m ready. Go for Justin.

Matt Caddell
All right, this might have a little bit of a longer answer but what does Mack Adele look like if he’s playing in an Alabama offense led by either Lane Kiffin or Steve Sarkeesian Oh, I am a I’m a playmaker I am I am just getting a lot of touches I don’t think I would be like a key slot guide and get open on third downs and make plays which which player was the best player you ever play with or against? best player ever play with had to be Tyrone guy can play any position. I never forget one album missing all second and I looked at his tape and he played quarterback receiver defensive bat like he played everything and I was like, yeah pro throw is one of the more talented players I’ve ever played with guys. I played against the most talented probably had to be Marcus spears. We were in Death Valley. And I remember like, he does not couldn’t be he could not be blocked. He was so atletic and so big and so I was like, Yeah, he’s a stud.

Santiago Leon
Yeah, Justin,

Justin Riley
I agree with you there, brother. That guy was a monster. I loved watching him when he didn’t play us.

Santiago Leon
Or what we’re hearing is like, Okay, this is what we see on TV like is confirmed.

Matt Caddell
Yeah. And I will, okay, this is like my number two. I never get dare McMahon his freshman year. And they were like, yeah, August saw, I think we played them in Tuscaloosa. And you’re like, Oh, yeah, they sign these big time. freshmen are running backs, you know, feelings in the bed and I’ll never forget me bad and busted, like a 70 yard run on our sideline and I was like, whoa. And I was like, Oh my gosh, this guy’s the real deal. So it’s kind of like Popping experiences I saw us live

Justin Riley
who would you compare yourself with Alabama currently?

Matt Caddell
Oh, currently Who would I compare myself? I think my ha they’re not there anymore.

Justin Riley
I mean, you can go with the guy who wore your number Henry rugs if you will.

Matt Caddell
Oh yeah forgot about him. Of course. Every rugs got to keep it in 11 family you know that’s number of special. I will go with Henry rug. Both bad guys. He’s probably a little bit more athletic. And I will be that’s it to answer your first question. I would be like Henry rugs and out in Sri Lankan outfits.

Santiago Leon
Which put out which player was your favorite from from Alabama last season? Oh,

Matt Caddell
oh my gosh,

Santiago Leon
man. or who you enjoyed the most.

Matt Caddell
Well my gosh. Ah, that’s a tough question.

Justin Riley
Do we need to go on offense and defense or do or

Matt Caddell
yeah go off into the deepest for me offensively. I have to say it was the Ponce Smith because that Ole Miss game. I don’t get watching that Ole Miss game. I was like this guy here like three touchdowns in the first half, but I’m like, he was so consistent with his hands. So I give that one a Smitty and defensively I just fell in love with Christian bar more because he was like, he was the one of the few guys that really brought play with high energy and motor and I was like, why isn’t this guy like plan a starting because he plays with such a high motor. He’s so physical. I really like Christian bar more so big Christian barman, Christian bar more davante Smith, and I got to give gotta give to water because every time water touches the ball, you don’t know what’s gonna happen. Is he gonna go for a touchdown or whatever so those are my three guys.

Santiago Leon
I had to jump in here and for NFL fantasy would you pick Judy or rugs?

Matt Caddell
I’m going with Judy. I just think he’s in a better situation I think drew lock Broncos what they have coming back how he been his last year. They got Cortland sign it the other receiver. I just think judy is going to be able to get more fantasy points. That Henry rugs that’s just me thinking I just think his route running his skills he can separate I think that’s gonna make him that much more effective his rookie year.

Justin Riley
I think is definitely in the better position to you know, more confidence there from the quarterback. He else has several players around him that will compliment him Henry Rollins doesn’t quite have that luxury just yet. There. There’s a big question mark a quarterback really don’t know what we’re going to see there. So yeah, I have to agree with you. If I had to pick a fantasy team, he would definitely be on it. But going back to Alabama, who needs to step up on both sides of the football for Alabama to win a national championship in 2020

Matt Caddell
I just think as Patrick certeyn on the defense you know, he’s got to go and kind of regroup and make a name for himself because I think Derek stealin kind of took the shine from like, being the top quarterback in the sec so I can think he kind of had an OK year. But I think certeyn really needs to come out of his shell and kind of have that makeup Fitzpatrick type of skill set on the defense effectiveness on the defense whether, you know, we could put Mika safety, we could put them at Star we can put them in money. We need Patrick certeyn to be that guy for us on our defensive on the defensive in offensively, um, who I think is need to step up. And I think it’s gonna have to start with the quarterback Mac’s gonna have to lead us he’s gonna have to be that Bell County to, you know to lead us off instantly and not turn the ball over and really spread the ball out and make a run kind of like hopefully like how, you know, you learn from Joe burrow you know how to make a run and really propel his career with a national championship.

Santiago Leon
Justin go for the last one for the night.

Justin Riley
Okay, this should be a little bit easier. What former Alabama player rookie card from this past NFL Draft would you buy? Oh, or maybe it’s not easy.

Matt Caddell
I’m gonna go into his hour go into it just because, you know, the Miami fans just aren’t Like slowly lady to have to Oh, yeah. And I think to has potential. I think he set up in a great situation where he gets to learn from one of the smartest guys, I think a Harvard graduate and Ryan Fitzpatrick. So he’s gonna learn the game on a. He’s going to get a great education level from Fitzpatrick and I think he has potential if he continues to develop and, you know, get rid of the ball, not take unnecessary hits. Tula could have the potential to be one of the greats.

Santiago Leon
I agree as a dolphin fan. Everyone’s you know, rumbling, you know, I’m comparing mountain bike, like the very next Dan Marino. So hopefully, hopefully, everything pans out. Hopefully his uh, his health will be stronger than it was in college. said Yeah,

Matt Caddell
sure.

Santiago Leon
Anyways, let’s head into At the end of the show, our poll question on Twitter is what is your favorite macaroni dish? mac and cheese macaroni salad hamburger and macaroni or macaroni pie? We’ll go with Matt.

Matt Caddell
My favorite macaroni dishes just playing macaroni man. I feel like these kids be just playing macaroni and cheese, man. It’s not a big macaroni salad or anything like this. Just macaroni and cheese. You know you don’t Thanksgiving and use some barbecue. That’s me. Nothing fancy.

Santiago Leon
How about you, Justin?

Justin Riley
First of all, if we had macaroni salad in our house, it would be a huge insult to my family who grew up in a delta of Mississippi. We didn’t let those things enter into our tables. Definitely not our Thanksgiving but yeah, the original macaroni and cheese man that that’s where it all starts. I mean I liked the hamburger elbow version but the original man that’s still came to me and you have to do it right I am very picky because I know how it’s supposed to taste like i said i got country roots so you know I was raised the right way and taught taught how to make it right so yeah, don’t mess it up. Yeah,

Santiago Leon
mac and cheese is winning at 72% a second place macaroni salad 16 hamburger macaroni and 11 and macaroni pie at 00

Matt Caddell
Wow, I don’t what is macaroni pie? Um, it’s it’s interesting.

Santiago Leon
I think they have like a cross. I mean, obviously and then they put it up with like with macaroni, I think is like macaroni cheese with like, with a pie crust as that’s what I’ve seen Oh, sweaters. So they

Justin Riley
I don’t think they ever served that at birth dining mat.

Matt Caddell
I guess it’s like some new york being so bad.

Santiago Leon
You name it might be an up north thing. I don’t know. I mean, it was a big Google Trends. So I was searching for dishes and that one came up a lot. I think I had at one time in college I don’t know.

Matt Caddell
Now have had lobster mag and it was pretty good.

Santiago Leon
That’s awesome. That is best I should have put that on. That would that probably would want to Mack Adele. What is the best way for people to reach you online?

Matt Caddell
Um, they can just hit me up on Facebook Matthew to do reach out to me. I will get those Twitter handles one day so I’m in the party. Yeah, I was on the party. I’ll hopefully I might get it this week. You know what, that’d be my challenge to get to Twitter. And I hit Justin up and you’ll often let everybody know how to reach me via Twitter.

Santiago Leon
And and what’s your Instagram?

Matt Caddell
I don’t even have Instagram. So

Santiago Leon
yeah, you trouble Matt. I know.

Matt Caddell
I know. I know.

Justin Riley
I feel like we need to free you.

Matt Caddell
Yeah, free me. Give me up to speed please. typewriter I still use an abacus. I’m like super Oh

Santiago Leon
yeah. Facebook. I mean Justin has to go on some Facebook sabbatical sometimes I don’t know why, but it can be a pain. Hey,

Justin Riley
I had to get away from all the negativity and the cost of political nonsense.

Matt Caddell
Yeah.

Justin Riley
I gotta have a detox.

Matt Caddell
Yeah, you have to get away man. It’s like, I mean, I try to love everybody regardless of you know, their political views or whatnot. Some people live and breathe this

Matt Caddell
morning, you thinking about politics? Like I’m not thinking about it. Let’s

Santiago Leon
think about. Absolutely. Matt, can you tell us your future plans,

Matt Caddell
my future plans obviously, you know, let’s see. Just continue to work in become Star Wars in the business industry whether it’s pharmaceuticals or any other type business and let’s see, I’ll definitely want to get into coaching probably on a more high school level here over in Georgia so hopefully I can be our offensive coordinator but definitely a receivers coach for sure. So a lot of be this big time High School options are gonna be the Steve Sarkeesian and lank hipping up some high Georgia high school football over here. Hey, if you ever do get a head coaching gig, man, I love to get back into coach and then mainly the strength conditioning side of it. So the reality man, please don’t lose my number. I will contact you. You know, my Johnson’s like, yeah, Coach over here last year. It’s not too far from where I say so yeah,

Justin Riley
yeah. saw that.

Santiago Leon
Yeah, quite interesting. Justin, what is the best way to reach you online to talk to a boss Rent conditioning.

Justin Riley

Santiago Leon

Matt Caddell
Okay pre competition

Santiago Leon

And when it appreciate that definitely need a man especially from one of my Alabama brothers. That I definitely want to thank you for coming home and it’s Great, you know, first of all to be able to talk to all these Alabama legends but to be able to speak with guys from our day and especially you I think that you’re a part of a very special time in that football team’s history and you really brought back leadership to that program. You definitely from a spiritual aspect, you know brought, you know, godly perspective that I felt like I had been absent for some time so I was really great to rightful see that God use you there and has used you throughout your career at Alabama, the NFL, and even you know in the business world and now coaching it’s just been such an amazing testimony just to see how he is taking you through that journey and each step and how it’s really gonna change the lives of so many people that you’ll come in contact with.

Matt Caddell

And it’s just you just enjoying the game, you know, going through, you know, two different periods of Alabama is quite interesting like the pre Sabin and then like the Darren Sabin, it’s insightful.

Justin Riley
