Henry Signs $50M 4-Year Contract, Dak No Deal with Cowboys | Sports Cast July 15th Recap

The deadline for franchise players to sign long-term deals is 4 p.m. ET on July 15.

Titans and RB Derrick Henry is signing a four-year, $50 million contract that includes $25.5 million guaranteed. 
Under this new deal, Henry will be averaging $12.5 million per season, which ranks third in the NFL with Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey making $16.1 and Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott earning $15 million.

Henry won the NFL rushing title with 1,540 yards last season and has posted consecutive seasons of more than 1,000 yards. Of all NFL running backs with at least 200 carries last season, Henry’s 5.1 yards per carry was the highest.

Cowboys’ Dak Prescott among 12 players with franchise tag unable to reach long-term deal
The Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott were unable to reach an agreement on a long-term deal by Wednesday’s deadline, which means the quarterback will play the 2020 NFL season on the $31.4 million exclusive franchise tag.

Prescott joins 11 other NFL players who will play on the franchise tag in 2020, including Cincinnati’s A.J. Green, Denver’s Justin Simmons, Jacksonville’s Yannick Ngakoue, New England’s Joe Thuney, Washington’s Brandon Scherff, L.A.
