Falcons 3 Cowboys 43
Prescott also threw for two TDs, Ezekiel Elliott scored twice and Nahshon Wright recovered a blocked punt in the end zone a week after touching one kept Dallas from getting the ball as the Cowboys rolled to a 43-3 win.
The Cowboys (7-2) looked much more like the NFL’s No. 1 offense with Prescott throwing the first of two TD passes to CeeDee Lamb on the opening drive and Elliott finishing two others kept alive by fourth-down conversions, all before halftime.
Prescott was 24 of 31 for 296 yards before sitting in the fourth quarter, while Ryan finished with a 21.4 rating. He was 9 of 21 for 117 yards with the Falcons coming off a 27-25 win over New Orleans that was their third victory in four games.
Browns 7 Patriots 45
Mac Jones threw three touchdown passes, rookie Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for a career-high 100 yards and two scores, and the Patriots rolled to a 45-7 victory over Cleveland Sunday as the Browns lost quarterback Baker Mayfield to a knee injury.
The Browns (5-5) have dropped four of their last six and haven’t won at New England since 1992, when Bill Belichick was their coach.
Jones finished 19 of 23 for 198 yards passing. Hunter Henry added a pair of TD receptions as New England (6-4) went 7 of 9 on third down.
Mayfield limped off the field after taking a pair of hits in the third quarter.
Mayfield said an X-ray after the game showed no structural damage. He said he expects to play next week.
Saints 21 Titans 23
The Tennessee Titans moved to 8-2 on Sunday, as they defeated the New Orleans Saints 23-21. Titans’ defense came through to keep the win streak alive. The pass rush got to Trevor Siemian four times in the first half and it stopped him from converting the potential game-tying two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter.
Bucs 19 Washington 29
Brady was picked off twice in his first six passes, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers surrendered a clock-killing, 19-play drive that sealed a 29-19 upset by Washington on Sunday.
It’s their second consecutive loss on either side of the bye week, a performance coach Bruce Arians called embarrassing.
Washington lost reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Chase Young to a right knee injury in the first half.
”The stupidity has to go away if we’re going to go anywhere,” Arians said. ”We’re a very dumb football team, and that’s a reflection on the coaches.”
Bills 45 Jets 17
Allen threw two touchdown passes, Buffalo ran for four scores and the Bills’ top-ranked defense intercepted Mike White four times. It was an impressive showing for the Bills (6-3), who rebounded nicely from that 9-6 dud at Jacksonville.
Meanwhile, Allen was 21 of 28 for 366 yards with TD passes to Matt Breida and Stefon Diggs with an interception. Breida added a scoring run, as did Devin Singletary, Zack Moss and wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie as Buffalo’s offense looked alive and well.
Lions 16 Steelers 16
The Lions slogged their way to a 16-16 tie in dreary Pittsburgh on Sunday, surviving a nearly four-hour marathon against the Ben Roethlisberger-less Steelers that ended with Detroit mercifully avoiding the loss column for the first time in nearly a year.
Mason Rudolph completed 30 of 50 passes for 242 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Roethlisberger’s absence. He didn’t exactly make a compelling case that he is the heir apparent.
Najee Harris ran for 105 yards and at times appeared to be Pittsburgh’s only consistent offensive weapon.
Goff connected on 14 of 25 passes for just 114 yards while playing with a strained oblique as the NFL saw its first tie since Cincinnati and Philadelphia on Sept. 27, 2020. Detroit’s previous tie was against Arizona in the 2019 season opener, while Pittsburgh’s last tie came in Cleveland in Week 1 of 2018.
Jaguars 17 Colts 23 Jonathan Taylor ran for 116 yards and a touchdown, the Colts added another score on the block and they held on for a 23-17 win over Jacksonville to even their record for the first time this season.
Jacksonville answered with a 66-yard scoring run from Jamal Agnew but missed the extra point. James Robinson added a 1-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter and when Trevor Lawrence connected with Dan Arnold on a 2-point conversion, the Jags were suddenly within 20-17.
Panthers 34 Cardinals 10
Cam Newton provided a flashback to his MVP days in his second debut with the Panthers, throwing for one touchdown, running for another and sparking Carolina to a 34-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
The Cardinals – who were also missing top receiver DeAndre Hopkins – managed 169 total yards and could never mount a response after Carolina’s opening onslaught. McCoy finished 11 of 20 for 107 yards and an interception.
Vikings 27 Chargers 20
The Vikings bounced back from two straight close losses and one of the most tumultuous weeks of Zimmer’s eight-season tenure with a 27-20 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Kirk Cousins threw a pair of touchdown passes to Tyler Conklin and Dalvin Cook rushed for 94 yards and a score. Justin Jefferson, who had only five catches in the past two games, tied a season high with nine receptions for 143 yards.
Los Angeles (5-4) has dropped three of its past four. Justin Herbert was 20 of 34 for 195 yards with a touchdown and interception. Keenan Allen had eight catches for 98 yards.
Eagles 30 Broncos 13
DeVonta Smith celebrated his 23rd birthday in style, leading the Philadelphia Eagles in a 30-13 rout of the Denver Broncos. Smith finished with four catches for 66 yards and the two touchdowns — becoming the first Eagles rookie with multiple receiving scores in a game since Jordan Matthews in 2014.
Smith’s two touchdown catches helped the Eagles build a commanding lead as their run game took over in the second half. The Eagles had three players rush for over 40 yards for the third consecutive week — en route to 214 yards on the ground on the afternoon. Jordan Howard led Philadelphia with 13 carries for 83 yards while Boston Scott finished with 10 carries for 58 yards. Jalen Hurts — who completed 16 of 23 passes for 178 yards with two touchdowns and an interception — also had 14 carries for 53 yards. Hurts threw just three passes in the second half.
Teddy Bridgewater completed 22 of 36 passes (61.1%) for 226 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. The Broncos were just 1 of 5 in the red zone on the afternoon.
Seahaawks 0 Packers 17
A.J. Dillon rushed for two fourth-quarter touchdowns and Green Bay beat the Seattle Seahawks 17-0 on Sunday as Rodgers returned after missing a game with COVID-19. Seattle was shut out for the first time in a decade.
A week after his positive test caused him to sit out a 13-7 loss at Kansas City, Rodgers went 23 of 37 for 292 yards and threw an interception in the end zone in the third quarter as the Packers won for the eighth time in their last nine games.
Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf was ejected with just over a minute left in the game after a skirmish that resulted in penalties on both teams. Metcalf appeared to grab the face mask of at least one Packers player.
Chiefs 41 Raiders 14
Mahomes threw five touchdown passes and returned to his usual form after a surprisingly shaky stretch this season, and the Chiefs raced past the Las Vegas Raiders 41-14 on Sunday night.
Derek Carr threw two TD passes but also had his third interception in the past two weeks as the offense struggled to get going.
