Jets signing WR Breshad Perriman in Robby Anderson fallout

The Jets lost their top wide receiver Tuesday, but wasted no time finding his replacement. An agreement was reached with Breshad Perriman for 1-year, with a value of $8 million. $6 million of that is guaranteed, according his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

Top free agent Robby Anderson departed Tuesday afternoon; agreeing to a two-year, $20 million deal with the Carolina Panthers. Many speculate that his services were not appreciated by the organization. So, he opted to join his former coach, Matt Rhule, in Carolina.

Now, Perriman will assume the duty of becoming the Jets’ next deep threat. The former 1st round selection had 36 receptions for 645 yards and 6 touchdowns last season with the Buccaneers. He will play opposite Jamison Crowder, who led the team with 78 catches for 833 yards and 6 touchdowns. Many believe that New York still plans to target a top WR in the upcoming NFL Draft. It’s been widely suggested that they will employ the services former Alabama pass catcher, Jerry Jeudy.
