Zion Williamson makes NBA history in first 50 career games
New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson etched an entry into NBA history on Tuesday in leading his team to a 144-113 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Dominating inside while hitting a sizzling 13-for-16 from the field, Williamson became the only player in league history (during the shot-clock era) to average 23 points or more on 60% or better field-goal percentage through their first 50 career games.
“He’s just tough. There’s only so much you can do,” New Orleans coach Stan Van Gundy said. “As I’ve said: we want to use him more and more as the primary ballhandler, and I have more confidence in that because as well as he finishes and scores the ball inside, he’s also a very willing passer.”
Warriors’ Draymond Green sounds off on NBA trading block
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green sharply criticized the NBA following Monday night’s win over Cleveland, saying players put on the trading block by teams are being treated unfairly.
Green spoke out after news broke of the Cavaliers sitting two-time All-Star center Andre Drummond because they’re looking to deal him. Drummond watched Monday’s game and cheered on his teammates from the bench while wearing street clothes.
“I would like to talk about something that’s really bothering me. It’s the treatment of players in this league,” Green said, cursing to emphasize his point: “To watch Andre Drummond … come out in street clothes because a team is going to trade him, it’s (expletive).
Green pointed out how then-New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis was fined $50,000 for publicly demanding a trade in 2019.

Pistons to sit Blake Griffin as team begins process of moving him
The Detroit Pistons have decided to sit six-time All-Star Blake Griffin as the team and his representatives work to, “facilitate a resolution regarding his future with the team,” according to reporting from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
“After extensive conversation with Blake’s representatives, it has been determined that we will begin working to facilitate a resolution regarding his future with the team that maximizes the interests of both parties,” Pistons GM Troy Weaver told ESPN on Monday. “We respect all the effort Blake has put forth in Detroit and his career and will work to achieve a positive outcome for all involved.”
The Pistons reportedly will now facilitate trade offers for Griffin, who was acquired by the team from the LA Clippers in January of 2018.
“I am grateful to the Pistons for understanding what I want to accomplish in my career and for working together on the best path forward,” Griffin said in a statement to ESPN.
The 31-year-old forward has started 20 games for Detroit this season and is averaging career lows for points (12.3), field goal attempts (11.1) and free throw attempts (3.1). For his career, the former No. 1 overall pick is averaging 21.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists. He played in just 18 games last season after requiring season-ending left-knee surgery.

Porto stuns Juventus 2-1
Porto scored at the start of each half to beat Juventus 2-1 in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday.
Mehdi Taremi gave Porto the lead after just 63 seconds after a defensive mixup by Juventus gifted him an easy finish, and Moussa Marega netted 19 seconds into the second half.
Federico Chiesa scored what could prove to be a vital away goal for Juventus in the 82nd minute.
The second leg will be on March 9 in Turin.

Well, I’ll tell you the highlights so far that Derrick Rose, has got traded back to New York and got reunited with Taco Bell, which was kind of a shocker. I don’t think a lot of people saw coming just because Derrick Rose’s to support in Detroit. And he’s put up the numbers he needs to. So for them to trade him out and put them back in New York is something a little different. And, you know, hopefully you’ll get that chemistry back over Taco Bell. You know, of course, a lot of players are always in the trade conversation. nobody’s really safe. Ever pretty, you know, pretty much glued to their TV and looking at their phone to see what’s happening next. But, you know, really, I feel like the trade has been maintained this this year. I mean, I’ve we’ve probably seen it worse in past years. But you know, really everyone just kind of it’s been seemed to be calm. It seems to be calm, but as far as the trade deadline. All right. I’ll let Carson take that one.

What does their growth bring to the table from New Yorker poor. She’s a veteran, played MVP. This next team is a young team. Is this the missing puzzle piece? Well, I’m happy said that because their growth being the veteran that he is experienced, he’s had and he’s had with the organization, you know, you get a lot of young players and, you know, make some immature moves. You know, on the court, not the right time, you know, not the right passes or not the right shots. But Derrick Rose coming in, he’s seen, he’s seen it all. I mean, he’s been to the Eastern Conference Finals against LeBron when he was in Chicago with taco burrito. He’s been from team to team, he’s had different experiences with each team. He’s been through a lot. So I think him as a player, he’s extremely experienced, and he’s kind of seen it all. So he can not only help the team, but help, you know, player by player is kind of coming in.

So I think everybody’s eyes you mentioned Derrick Rose, they always give him that respect. But as far as number wise, numbers, wise, he, he puts up average numbers, he puts up numbers he needs to, they’ll have a few good games here and there. When he was in Minnesota, he remember he had that 52 point game, which is very emotional to him because he was counted out. So it kind of seems like he when he’s counted out. That’s when he goes back on top. But as far as you saying, a star of the game, I think he’ll always be. I think he’ll always be that guy.

They don’t really seem cocky they very they seem very on the edge about most things they do just because it’s never final. And so you know, Blake sitting out i think is a little it’s a little upsetting. You know, just because you’re not playing in his futures a little undecided right now. I just thought yeah, I mean, I just don’t think the pistons are really handling it well and when you have a player like the Blake Griffin, I really wouldn’t be playing hot potato with him. He’s an all star you know possible. You know, my point is not you know, Hall of Famer, you know, who knows, but yeah, it when you have a player of that caliber, it’s not someone you kind of throw up in the air and just go, oh, we’ll see where he lands. You have to really walk him in and make a final decision if you’re going to trade.
